I finally was able to get past my road block on my lizard painted canvas:
I think it is done. I will let him hang out a few days and then I will take him to the framer.
I finally was able to get past my road block on my lizard painted canvas:
Well, it is the end of the month and I want to show some progress on my WIP pile.
First, this is the from the mind of Melissa over at Measi's Musings. It is just a way to get encouragement on finishing some of the WIPs we have in our WIP pile.
I managed to finish Love Coffee by Mill Hill:
Which meant I could work on the next Mill Hill bead kit in my pile, Garden Chair:
I also did a bit more on my 17th Century Whitework Sampler:
And a little stitching on Betsy Ross Needlecase:
Blue Larkspur is HUGE, but I am making progress:
And Pour ta Fete has gotten a little attention:
Oh! And Reptiles got the 500+ stitches in February:
If I worked on one project at a time I would get more done, but I am afraid I would get a little bored.
My local guild is starting Shimmering Dreams by Mona Hill. It is a Group Correspondence Course offered by EGA . I, am trying to stitch from stash and use my own colors. Here are some of my thread choices:
I managed to get some stitching time for the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend.
This is just a weekend to show progress on your pieces and if you are able, to spend a little extra time stitching.
First, I worked on Pour ta Fete and made it to the right edge:
I did a quick peek at my pattern and realized I still have quite a bit to do before the end of the year!
I spent some time with my Avlea Blue Larkspur:
Starting point:
Where I ended:
I love the red flowers:
And I got a bit done on my 17th Century Whitework sampler:
I started on the second big motif:First, thank you for all the lovely comments on the last post. Aren't Jo's blog hops fun?
Here is the Valentine I stitched:
It is a little Mill Hill kit that I stitched while visiting my family. I have an idea how to use it, but need to do a little more stitching....Today is Gifted Gorgeousness, where we post photos of things we were gifted, are going to gift, have the word gift in them... You get the idea. It is hosted by Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching
I received this Heaven and Earth Design chart years ago and have decided to try to work on it a little every month-500 stitches is my goal.
Here is where I left it in January:
And here I am today:
I also made some progress on Pour ta Fete:
I'm close to the right edge on this piece!
I am sorry that this is posting so late! Life!
This Hop is the brainchild of the lovely Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching We are to post a photo that Jo sent us from another lovely stitcher that had to do with hearts, valentines, etc. Then we are to hop around the various blogs and try to find our photo.
Hmmm. Who is this from? Does anyone know? Please comment so I can learn who stitched this piece.I really would love to have this piece fully finished so I can use it. I have the perfect spot for it, if I ever get it done...
Last night I was able to get together via Zoom and stitch with friends. At first I thought I would just work on a cross stitch piece. After all, it is easier to sit and gab if you aren't concentrating on a difficult stitch. BUT, I only stitch on this piece when I get together with this group, so I thought I would see what I could get done.
Ta da!
My little lace triangles are far from perfect, but I am learning. One more triangle to go and I can start on the center. This is the Mehitable Payton 1698 Sampler from Thistle Threads. Or my 17th century whitework sampler...My local guild- Mississippi River Valley Chapter of EGA is stitching Erica Michael's Sampler Book as our year-long project. I'm trying to stay ahead of the group and managed to finish the letter C over the weekend:
Means I can start a new piece, right?
I am planning on joining Helen D on her SAL of Strawberry Farie by October House:
Not sure if I will stitch it on the blue Morning Fog(40 count) by BeStitchMe Fabrics:Well, I'm running a few days behind on my check-in, but I have an excuse: I was visiting my mom in Albuquerque. I had a great time and ate some(but not enough) New Mexican food.
(Photo with my mom and younger sister)
Question for the month: What do you bring on retreats? I haven't attended a retreat in years. Hopefully I will this year, but I tend to bring too much. If I go this year, I will bring a light, a Mill Hill bead kit, a cross stitch project and a needlepoint, extra needles, cheap scissors, and Jelly Bellies.
I managed to stitch on a few pieces this month:
Gnome Santa is stitched!
I need to cut him out and attach the leaf and fully finish him, but he is done! Yipee!
Purrfect Santa:
I took this with me to Albuquerque and managed to get a little done on him.
Blue Larkspur:
I always think this would be a great travel piece, but it isn't. I really have to concentrate to stitch it. But I love it and am making progress.
Pour ta Fete:
I thought I would get a page finish on this one, but no such luck. Hopefully I can get to the right edge of the piece before the end of February.
Reptiles-HAED:
I managed 1000 stitches on my HAED! Hopefully I can get some extra work done on it again in February. I need to work on the bit that is confetti heavy.
