Why I Like Zoom

Well, I have been stitching with some friends on my 17th Century Whitework Sampler from Thistle Threads. I am very slow....But some progress is better than no progress. I was struggling with the 4 sided stitch when my friend Mary suggested that I needed to do two wraps at one spot rather than one. Brilliant!!!

I did it incorrectly on the section to the right, but I am not taking it out! It is my practice piece, after all.

I hope to get this little band done so I can get the larger band beneath it stitched. Then I need to make a pillow and start cutting threads.  I will keep you posted on my progress.

My Progres on Royal Garden

Thanks Jane from Chilly Hollow for the advice on using a thinner thread. I ordered some threads and hope they will be in soon.

While I was waiting, I worked on the Sprat's head stitches. They do take a while, and there are quite a few to do.

Thank goodness I like stitching them.

Next time I pick this up I hope to get the 4 Chilly Hallow stitches done. Wish me luck!

Royal Garden Issues

I am not sure what to do.....I have pulled this piece out with the hope that I would get it finished before the end of June. But I know I will run out of a thread. Sigh. If I had just known when I was in New Mexico, I could have picked it up.

It is also a royal pain to pull the threads through to make the Chilly Hollow stitch. So, should I find a different thread? Abandon the project? (Not going to do that, although I am tempted.) Order the stuff I am going to run out of? I am thinking I may order a similar thread to see if it would work better.

I am going to pull Marion Lang out. Making little x's may calm me down...

A New Project, Because I Needed One

I should not have started this project, but it kept calling my name.....

Marion Lang by Sassafras Samplers

I started this May 8 and work on it when I am tired and need an easy stitch. I am stitching it on a mystery piece of linen and two Victorian Motto Sampler shop flosses. Wouldn't it be lovely in reds?

I also am including a video of the shop I visited while in New Mexico. It is a needlepoint shop and has a lovely selection of threads.

The 100 Day Project

It has been forever since I posted! I have done a bit of traveling and then came home to a garden that needed attention. Oh well. Such is life.

First, here is the final day of my #the100dayproject:

Sorry for the wrinkles. I am waiting to do the center as I think I will do the Lamb of God in a true white. Yes, more than half done. I continue to work on it daily as I would love to have this stitched and framed to give to my mom.

I really want to finish this piece this year.
