A Bit on my Santa

I was able to finish the padding on Santa's beard last night.  Now I need to carefully layer the Fyre Werks.  It looks pink in the photo, but I think that is just the reflection of the light.

TAST a Few Days Late

This week we used the herringbone stitch.  Another versatile stitch that will  be fun to add french knots, beads and other stuff to it.  Find out more at Pintangle

Mistake Fixed

This was my first try at fixing my mistake.  I thought I I did coral knots and wove around them, it would look nice. But that didn't quite work so I thought I would do coral knots in a pattern:
After ripping it out twice because my stitching was so uneven, I decided I did not like how it looked.
Redid the coral knots in Grandeur, a silk pearl #5 and then did a twisted weave too on either side of the coral knots.  I like how that looks.  Not perfect, but much better.  My ground fabric was starting to fray and I needed to stop messing with it.
I started the last row of people in this sampler.  Still have 5 "rows" after that, but I think this will get done before the challenge is over in January!

Elizabeth and Some Finishes

I picked Elizabeth from the finishers today.  I had him make a box for her.
Here is a Janet Zickler Casey Santa that I finished:
And  a Gay Ann Roger's Heart that I finished and made in pink:
I look forward to sharing my finished projects with my local guild.

A Mistake, A BIG Mistake

I was stressed and did not reread the instructions and I should have. I cut 24 threads!  I was only supposed to cut 4 so I nearly cried.  But then I remembered that this is my sampler and I can do what I want on it.  (Not sure why blogger changed fonts, but oh well.)  So when I have finished this row, I will post it.

TAST-Week 3 and 4

This is Week 3-Feather stitch.I used a wonderful thread from Colour Complements .  She has wonderful overdyed threads and I am so excited to start using them.
This is Week 4-Cretan stitch.  I see beads and lazy daisy stitches and french knots.  Will try to wait until they come up on the TAST rotation...
Here is what I have done so far. Here is the link if you want to join the fun:Pintangle
