TUSAL for May

What is the TUSAL? It is the best stitch a long! The Totally Useless Stitch a Long is just a monthly photo of your orts on the new moon. What are orts? They are the bits and bobs left over from stitching and quilting and crafting.

Here are my two ort containers:

And one more thing: Fiber Talk celebrated its 500th show on Sunday. Lots of interesting guests and beautiful patterns. Go take a look!

What I did For IHSW May 2022

I did catch my husband's cold. Sigh. But here is what I managed to stitch:

Pour ta Fete

More Than A Rose is finished! Now how shall I fully finish it?

Purple Mountain Majesty Heart:

More tent stitch done on this and lots more to do!

Springhill:

Lots and lots of green left to do.

IHSW for May 2022

Well, it is the beginning of the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend and I shall post what I hope to stitch. We will see. It is gardening season and my poor hubby has a nasty cold. So far I have NOT gotten it, but we shall see...

Pour ta Fete will get attention for sure as I stitch on it pretty much daily:

More than A Rose Group Correspondence Course just needs one more petal. If I don't get sick, it should get finished:
I haven't touched Purple Mountains Majesty Heart by Gay Ann Rogers in almost a week. I was trying to put 15 stitches in a day so I need to play catch-up:
Oh! The IHSW is just a weekend where we try to get a little extra stitching time and post it on the Facebook Group-IHSW-International Hermit and Stitch Weekend

A New Start-Kind of....

This piece was from a workshop that I took with my daughter many years ago through my local guild. It was a Petite Project on the EGA website that Judy Jeroy kitted up for us and taught. I finished mine and kept thinking I would change the colors on my daughter's piece after she abandoned it. I never bought different crewel wool so I finally decided to just stitch it.

What will I do with two pieces that are exactly the same? No clue. I am thinking about making a bag, but that requires  my sewing machine. Hmmm. Any thoughts? Oh! I didn't eat all that cake! It was shared among family!

Gifted Gorgeousness May 2022

Well, this has been a super busy weekend with my youngest graduating from college. Bittersweet, in so many ways.

Gifted gorgeousness is the brainchild of Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching . You are supposed to post anything that was gifted to you, is a gift for someone else, has the word "gift" in it...You get the idea!

I think Pour ta Fete by Lindsey Lane Designs works as the original stitcher made it as a gift for an aunt's(?) party.

I think the colors are working although the french horn looks a little "green" in person. I am close to the bottom on this piece. Yipee!

Getting Brave

I started on my first petal for my More Than a Rose center flower. Not perfect, but I am enjoying it.

I think I will detatch it and add it to the piece and then start the next one today.

Pour ta Fete Progress Report

I love working on this, but try not to stitch on it too much. Why? I have two other pieces that are close to being finished. If I can get them done, I will feel like I can work on this more.

There is a French horn in the center of the cartuche. When it is done, there is one large motif underneath and that is the bottom of the piece.
Even on 53 count, this is big! But if I can get it done, I know where I want to hang it.

A Crewel Finish

This was such a fun stitch that I am thinking about starting another crewel work. This was a piece from Chrissie Juno-Mann that I took at the Royal School of Needlework.

I am trying to finish at least one more piece before I start a new one. What would you do?

Progress on Pour Ta Fete

I try to stitch on this piece every day. It makes me happy to see progress so here is the last photo I shared with you:

 And here I am now:

I will try to take a photo of the whole project next time I share.

And the More Than a Rose piece- I need to make detatched buttonhole to the gold thread. I still need to figure it out.

Why Chocolate?

Jo asked why so much chocolate in my photos. I'm doing  #the100dayproject on Instagram.  I decided, as a joke, to do #100daysofchocolate2022 . I try not to eat the chocolate every day...

Here is my calendar for April:

And here is my calendar for March, since I didn't seem to post it:

I am trying to finish More than a Rose:

I think I am doing this wrong and need to take time to play with it.
