Painted Lizard Canvas

This project was called for my WIPGO board for February.  Don't know what WIPGO is? Here is a link to the best explanation. I doubt I will get 8 hours in this piece before the end of the month, but I have gotten a little bit done. Mainly, reverse stitching.

First attempt was the purple and then I tried the variegated thread:

Then I tried a different thread:

Much better. So I ripped the other threads out and started stitching.

Looking at this photo makes me wonder if I should have found a black thread...

Then I could find a bright thread that has the neon colors and place it in the squares. I will sleep on this and decide in the morning.

A Finish!

I really loved working on this little sampler by Sassafras Samplers. It is called Red February and I stitched it on 45 count Jersey Cream with Missus Sedas red.

I was going to post a video, but this terrible photo will have to suffice.

I need to hemstitch the edges and put it on a spool. So cute! I will try to take a better photo. I have an urge to buy a bunch of squirrel stuff and make a little vignette.

Getting Close to a Finish

I can't seem to put this piece down. I may have to put it on my WIPGO chart so I can mark it as a WIPGO!

When I get this done, I will try to post a short video of the entire thing.

Gifted Gorgeousness for February

Well, it is time to post what I am stitching on that I can call "a gift".

I have been stitching away on this free chart from Kim Young over at Sassy Jacks. Since it was a gift from her to us, I figured it counts. Go check Jo's blog to see what others are stitching for gifts.

One WIPGO Project

Well, More Than a Rose was called again this month so I am trying to work on it a bit each day. I was supposed to start stitching the background in a silver wire:

I felt it was too thick, so I removed it and am using some DMC that I have:

I like it a lot better.

I am in LOVE!

But you already knew that I love the color red, so it is no surprise that Red February by Sassafras Samplers is my favorite thing to stitch!

Here is my progress:

Yep. I love it. But I need to work on my WIPGO projects for February. It is a short month...

Do You Need a New Project?

Well, I don't but started one anyway! How could I resist this cute FREE chart from Sassy Jacks Stitchery.

It is called Red February and is available as a free download. Put it in your cart and check out. This is only available through February 2022! Kim isn't shipping internationally, but does have a wide variety of supplies for those of us in the US. And she is trying to do a little video every Friday in February.

I am using 45 count  Jersey Cream with Missus Sedas Silks. I will try to post some progress photos. Also, this keeps me in compliance with Brenda and Laura from Brenda and the Serial Starter over on FlossTube.

And I wanted to start a single color project...Do I need to make anymore excuses?

People's Choice February-Snow

Yikes! Who picked snow for this challenge. 😂❄❆If you want the full scoop, check out Jo's Blog Serendipitous Stitching

I really don't like snow. Well, I like it if I am inside drinking coffee and stitching. Other than that, YUCK!

I don't have any new snow photos to share. So I will share this one:

I was at the car dealership the other day waiting for my car to be serviced. It was supposed to snow where I live, but thanks be to God it went south of us! Just a few miles to our east and south received 10 inches!!!

A Page Finish!

First, I love my needle minders from Fiber Talk. They are strong and the perfect size. No, that aren't pretty, but they get the job done!

I am pleased with Pour ta Fete. I may add another color as I go along, but right now I am enjoying using just two.
