Lots of Tent Stitch

I am in the midst of a lot of tent stitch on this piece. It is great for mindless stitching and prepares me for the nest step on this project. Gay Ann Rogers  has said she is close to posting kits for her queens. I really should finish at least one project before I even consider purchasing another one. What do you think?

June WIPocalypse Check In

Melissa at  Measi's Musings  hosts a SAL where we are to work on our WIPs as if the world will end. I don't have time to post a bunch of photos this month, but I enjoyed her question this month and wanted to share it.
Where do you love to shop for stash?
My local store closed in April which is very sad. So all my shopping is online now. I get no money, etc from these shops, but I just wanted to share.
Inspired Needle   is in the Chicago-land area although I have never visited. I have ordered charts from a series through them. Letters From Mom by Jeanette Douglas, I think.
Needle in A Haystack is in California. I order threads from them for my needlepoint. They aren't Amazon but shop fairly quickly. They do have lots of linen and tons of threads.
Acorns and Thread is in Oregon and I have ordered from them.
Sassy Jacks Stitchery has a lot of fun patterns and do have teachers come in.

What are you favorite shops?

Hooray!

I like to have a needlepoint project going when I get tired of making little x's....
This would go really fast if I spent any amount of time on it.
I am working on the plaid area and I hope the gold I am using works. I just pulled some stuff from my stash. It won't be stitched by Memorial Day but maybe the 4th of July(?) It would be great if I finished that silly Uncle Sam's Hat too so I could do a display! Maybe if I watch some of those drum making videos on YouTube....How hard can it be?

Gifted Gorgeousness May 2019

Jo over at   Serendipitous Stitching  started this SAL to give us the opportunity to stitch something that was gifted to us, is a gift for someone else, that you can fit the word gift into....You get the idea.
I try to find something that I am stitching that I can shoehorn into this SAL. This month I thought I would show you the (very little) progress I have made on a project that I intend to gift to someone. That is, if I ever finish it!
This is the last photos I have of it.
There is a mistake in the lower wing sections and I thought I might just throw the whole thing away.
But I couldn't do it. So I decided to make it work. It is not a great work of art or anything! I am just going to mail it as a postcard!
So I took it back out and got a little more stitching done.
I may just leave the center parts blank. There is a bit more stitching in other areas, but it would be a joy to have it done and gone!

What Day is it?

I was going to post for WIP Wednesday, but we all see how that turned out....
May is busy. Graduation. Mother's Day. College kids home-complete with dirty clothes and hungry tummies! And we have a vacation planned! I will try to post and keep up on everyone's blogs.
I made a decision to focus on First Christmas Stocking this month and make as much progress as possible. I may pull Reptiles out on a few weekends, but no MH 1656 or other large project. I need to see a large finish this year!
Here is the last photo of my stocking:
And here is where I left off last night:
Lots of backstitching done although I can see from the photo I have more to do. This piece has lots of color changes, quarter and three quarter stitches. But it will look so nice hanging with the rest of my homemade stockings at Christmas!

Is it May?

Well life has been super busy. My middle child graduated with highest honors from Cedarville University with an electrical engineering degree. Yes, this is one proud momma! He also received an award for his senior design project.
Yes, he is the one that used to bead and do needlework. Now he is into the geek world, but I hope one day, he will return to needlework. A mom has to dream!
I am trying to keep up with the 100 Day Project . Because of life, I had to change my stitching plans. Because it was ready and I am stitching it in hand, I decided to stitch a little each day on Here Lie My Needles.
One day I think I only put in a dozen stitches, but every stitch counts!
I also started Hooray for the Red, White and Blue.
I hate to say how many times I had to restitch the borders and then the bargello section. We are doing this as a study group for my local guild.
I do have an urge to start a new project, but I have way too many large ones going. Hopefully I can post a photo of my progress on one of them tomorrow.
