A Half of a Pear Section

My goal is to have this little section of pear done before the end of the month. I also realized I can gift the finished piece to a friend, if I can get it done before the end of the year....

I Lied

I decided to change the initials on Pour ta Fete.

I will do my mom's initials which shouldn't be too difficult.
This is also my post for Gifted Gorgeousness.

Decision Made

I have been trying to figure out if I should personalize Pour ta Fete or leave it as charted. Laziness won and I am stitching it as charted.

AC Bluebird Drum Progress

I wish I had stitched an alphabet under the motifs. Oh well.

Tiny Little Petals

I just need to attach these to my panel.

A Motif

Working everyday on Pour ta Fete

A Restart

I don't like my start on AC Bluebird by Sassafras Samplers:

I think it's the purple banding with the over dyed silk.

So I am making a drum using the pattern while I decide how I will stitch the whole sampler:

I'm using Ocean Aire by Fox and Rabbit 37 count linen and Silks4u silks from the Advent box.

More Ripping

Well, I ripped out the Dazzle and added the DMC 816:

Ripping and Decisions

I ran out of a thread while working on my needle case:

I know I will use the yellow/gold for accents but could not decide between the Dazzle, Sue Spargo threads or DMC816.

Ripping and then trying out threads:
I like the Dazzle (on the left) best. And since it's the back of the needle case, does it really matter?

 One little hedgehog:

I have two more to finish. They are adorable and quite addicting to stitch.

May 1, 2025

I just watched Brenda over at Handwork Maniac on Flosstube. She has an interesting way to do Maynia. I won't be able to explain it well, so go watch her!

Anyway, I thought I would try to post daily one of the projects I am stitching. I usually stitch on 2 or three pieces daily. My goal this month is to finish one so I can start something new. We will see.

Here's my calendar for April:

I'm working on the next section of the Limonera Pear. It's a study group with my local EGA:

If I finish a section, does that mean I can start something new?

April Wipocaplypse (Photo Heavy

Well, I have been stitching and have made some progress on my projects.

This SAL is the brainchild of  Melissa over at Measi's Musings . The question of the month is: Let's talk fabric- what is your go-to fabric dyer, your preferred type, count, color, etc? Personally, I love BeStitchMe fabrics . I like all colors and try to collect as many as possible. But my preferred count would be 40 or 45 count linen.

Here are my projects, in no particular order-

Pour ta Fete:

Mary Fosh-Running with Needles and Thread:

Goldwork hedgehogs:

Hapsburg Lace Needlecase-Tanya Berlin:

Limonera Pear:

Mushrooms-Stitched Stories:

And two finishes! Quaker Hornbook by With Thy Needle:

And Janette Kirkland-Queenstown Sampler Designs:

This may need some cording, but maybe next month.

Section Done

I need to decide what to put in the center. Beads? Sparkly threads.

New Project

I started a new project for traveling. It is from Stitched Stories. I didn't get the kit but kitted it from my stash.

I love it! I will try to finish it this year.

I finally finished this book cover for my mom. I hope she likes it.

Working on Another Pear

I'm not sure I like the metallic thread I'm using. It's DMC gold thread. I think I will rip it out and find something else.

Trying to Make Progress

I've started working on this every morning.

A Few Stitches

Mary Fosh by Running with Needle and Scissors has been calling me. I changed the threads to Vicki Clayton silks. I also am trying to be more regular on the flowers on the border.

Check Your Count!

Well, I started Bees in the Greenhouse on Silver Fox that I thought was 40 count. But I was struggling to stitch it with the DMC. So I checked. It was 46 count! So I decided to change my fabric rather than changing my threads.

I'm moving to 37 count Cloudburst by Legacy linens.

I will probably change the white DMC to a grey.

Calendar for February and March

Nothing exciting. Maybe I can remember to do a Wipocalpse post this month. I did start all the things!

I Forgot One

Bees in the Greenhouse by The Blue Flower. Called for DMC with 40 count Silver Fox from Fiber on a Whim.

I think this will be my travel project.

How Many Did I Start?

Well, I know I started Mary Fosh by Running with Needles and Scissors

Those hedgehogs- I started them this month:

I need to get them done
AC Bluebird by Sassafras Samplers

And a new needlepoint project - Hapsburg Lace Needle case by Tanya Berlin.
Hmm. Hopefully that will keep me busy for a while.
