WIPocalypse for March 2023

First, this is a fun SAL to show posts of your WIPs. It is hosted by Melissa over at Measi's Musings.

You can find posts about this SAL on her site or Facebook.

The question of the month is where do you shop?  The real question is where DON'T I shop! I have a new shop in my area called BeStitchedMe , and I have found some nice fabric and threads there.

Sassy Jacks is also a place I frequent along with Needle in A Haystack . Both have a great variety of threads and linens...And Patterns!

This month I tried to stitch on Blue Larkspur by Avlea Folk Embroidery every day as part of the March challenge.

Here is where I started:

And where I finished:

I also finished my Doodle Drawn Thread Sampler by Gay Ann Rogers:

AND the first sampler in my 17th Century Whitework Sampler class by Thistle Threads:

Not a bad month for stitching.

And here is where I finished:

Can I get this done before the end of the month?

Gifted Gorgeousness March 2023

Well, I have been trying to get Pour ta Fete done. I have made some progress, but I really need to give her some serious time.

Go check out Jo and see all her fun stitching!

Still Working on Blue Larkspur

The dark blue is finished on all four corners:

Sampler Book-Letter D

I finished the next page in my Sampler Book.

I just used three colors and I made several mistakes. But I'm calling it done.

A Finish-Kind Of

I have finished the first project for the 17th Century Whitework Sampler class by Thistle Threads

I changed the colors to a purple family and when I worked on the last row with all the cutting, I accidentally cut my base threads. This made me want to toss the whole thing and throw it across the room! Luckily, I'm stitching this with a group of friends and one suggested I just redo that row on the top of the sampler. So I did. I won't be framing this or doing a hemstitch as it was truly a learning piece.

But I will give her a bath!!!

My plan is to start the next sampler in April. It is a bit more complicated. And I plan to change colors.

Working on Sampler Book

My local guild, MRVC of EGA , is stitching Erica Michaels Sampler Book as our year-long project. I'm trying to stay a little ahead of the group. Here is my progress on Letter D:

I'm having a difficult time working on it. I keep scrolling through Instagram and Facebook rather than stitching.  I may have to find a project as my carrot to get this done.

Shimmering Dreams-Canvas

I forgot to post a photo of my canvas that I painted for this class:

I have put basting lines into the piece and I hope to start it before my guild meeting March 14.

This is a place marker for me, more than a real post:

Plan on putting one stitch in this daily for the month of March.

February Calendar and Some Stitching

Here is my calendar for February:

I did stitch every day, which is my relaxation.

I have been on a mission to finish the first project from my 17th century whitework class:

The final motif is close to being done. I need to read the instructions and see if I can fit the buttonhole bars in the space provided. Then I need to decide if I should start the next project or go dig out my Gay Ann Rogers Drawn Thread Sampler.
