IHSW for August 2022

It was the third week of the month so we celebrated with the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend!

The idea is to stitch as much as possible and to post photos on Facebook. It is just a fun idea.

I didn't take photos on Friday of my starting point, but I will do my best to show a before and after photos.

I had hoped to get all the background done on my painted canvas:

No such luck:

I did get all the way to the bottom....

Pour ta Fete got a little stitching:

I love the little bunny:
Alice Ellen Usher is really calling my name:
I love finishing the letters!
I also forced myself to fully finish this little crewel piece. I needed a cover for my bullet journal and this worked!

Gifted Gorgeousness for August 2022

How the month has flown! Hope everyone is having a good summer.

What is Gifted Gorgeousness, one may ask? It is a monthly post about something you are stitching or have stitched, that is a gift or was a gift or has the word gift in it.  I'm going with the last definitions....Loosely...

This is the brain-child of the wonderful Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching

I'm working on Pour ta Fete by Lindsey Lane Designs.

Here is my photo from last Friday:

 And here I am today:

I made a mistake somewhere and I will have to do some adjusting. But no one will know except me!

Working on My Painted Canvas

I have been trying to get this piece done. I have made more than one mistake on the background, but I want to get this done.

The bearded dragon also needs to be stitched along with the border.

Stitchy Friends Summer Blog Hop 2023

Serendipitous Stitching is hosting another fantastic blog hop. In this one, we are given the name of another blogger and need to give clues to who the person is. Then we add a photo of something we think they might like to stitch and you get to guess who it is. So here we go!

This stitcher has been blogging for years and like most of us, does more than one craft. She quilts and has a love for cross-stitch. She seems to like smaller projects, except for her quilts. Oh did I mention she crochets? She is a frequent blogger in Jo's hops.

Now, I don't do many smalls, but I noticed this blogger has one VERY LARGE PROJECT!

Alpine Seasons Garden ~ Châtelaine Designs ~ Full Kit This is the completed piece, but our blogger is very close to a finish on this one!

So if I was going to pick a project for my secret stitchy friend, seeing she is so close to a finish on Alpine Seasons Garden by Chatelaine Designs, I would give her this one:

Hummingbird Lace ~ Châtelaine Designs ~ Full Kit

Hummingbird Lace.....

Have you guessed who my Secret Friend is?

Mary is my blogging partner. Go and enjoy her blog!

Alice Ellen Usher

I have been enjoying stitching on this piece. I find doing each letter very relaxing.

Here is where I was a week or so ago:

And here I am now:

I am stitching it on Duxbury Linen, 40 count with Blue Lagoon by Classic Colorworks.

It is August!

I have been stitching away as I must not over work my broken knee. But the few things I can do take LONGER(Imagine that!), so I get less stitchy time some days than others.

I wanted to share my progress on Pour ta Fete.

Here she is from the IHSW Weekend:

And here is where she is today:

I must admit that I love stitching it. The small count linen-53/60 Sycamore Seed Pod- means I can't work on it when my eyes are tired. But each little letter seems like a small finish.

Here is my stitching calendar for July:

I stitch almost every day and almost always on multiple projects.
