Drawn Thread Sampler

I am ready to re-start stitching on my Drawn Thread Sampler. Here is where I left off:
I have lots left on this piece, but I feel more confident now that I stitched the Doodle piece.
Here it is for a comparison.
The large square still needs to be done, but I will wait until I do the large sampler for it.

A Mug Mat- Small SAL

I met with some friends today and managed to stitch this whole piece! Everything was cut out, so it was super easy.
It is Community Mug Mat by    One Wing Wool .    I love her kits. I have other things of hers, but they are in my basement somewhere! I forgot how much fun it is to stitch on wool once all the pieces are cut.
Stitching Lotus is hosting the Smalls SAL.
It is always fun to see what other people are stitching and have finished.

I Made Progress

I was surprised that I was able to do 1200 stitches, but I did!
Here is where I started:

And here is where I am today:
I think working on this on weekends is helping me make progress. Let's hope I can keep it up for June!

I Put the Date On, So Now I HAVE to Finish!

I have been working on this so I can get it done! I ripped the square that isn't cut at least 3 times! Crazy!
My initials, or my "mark" is on top right with the year underneath. I need to be calm and undisturbed to do it. I also have the large square to do.
Do you see my house row? I did not count correctly and I have a roof with no building. Oh well.

Mill Hill Monday-A New Start

I was cleaning out a small section of my basement when I came across this project:
I have no idea where I purchased this and when I started it, but I work on it in the evenings when my eyes need a bit of a rest.  Here is where I am now:
To be honest, I am not sure I like this project or what I will do with it once it is stitched. The perforated paper feels weird...I think it is not as good of quality as my other Mill Hill Kits. Anyway, I am stitching on something from my stash!

TUSAL May Report

I am posting tonight for the Totally Useless Stitch Along hosted by   Daffycat  . It is a stitch along to show your leftover threads. Totally useless, but fun, nonetheless.
I have two ort containers, to be truthful. One is near my stitching nest:

The other is in my bedroom. I normally use a small bathroom cup:

But my dd got tired of that and gave me this little ort container for Mother's Day.

Gifted Gorgeousness and My Maynia

First, I did not post last week as my college guys were home and we did lots of yard work and things around the house. They tired me out, but it was wonderful to see them. Hopefully we will get another visit around the 4th of July.

First, have any of you had this happen?
I lost the screw on my hoop. It is either in the bottom of my bag or at the doctor's office. Oh well. I have another hoop and they are fairly cheap.

Here is where I left off on my Gifted Gorgeousness last time:
And here is where I am today:
It is my take along project.
I have been working on my samplers from Gay Ann Rogers Monday thru Thursday and Reptiles on the weekend. That seems to work fairly well for me.
Here is my band from the Doodle Sampler:
That took awhile. Now I need to do some needleweaving.
And here is Reptiles:
I have a bunch of confetti to fill in and that is taking a bit. But I love seeing the progress.
I will try to check in again before the end of the week.  I think there should be a TUSAL soon!

Maynia Progress

Well, it isn't much progress, but at least I was able to take a few stitches.
I did not like the band as Gay Ann Rogers graphed it so I decided to change it a bit. I think all those blank squares need tiny eyelets in them. As my friend Mary suggested, I need to do a practice bit on the side to make sure I like it. Once those eyelets are in, they are IN!
How is your Maynia going? Hope you are able to challenge yourself and enjoy the craziness. Happy stitching!

Maynia Has Begun!

I cannot start a new project. I want to, but I have too many large projects started. I went and searched my basement and looked at all my WIPS and just could not start a new one. At least not yet. I have a feeling I will start a new small soon, but we will see.
Here is my "plan": I am going to work during the week on one of my Drawn Thread Samplers by Gay Ann Rogers. They need to get done and since Maynia is about challenging oneself, these are perfect. These pieces live in my basement because they scare me, but I am going to get them done!

And look at how the samplers are wonky! So sad. Do I need to take the off and re-stretch them? Probably. Which is how I will spend my first stitching day...
On the weekends, I plan on stitching on Reptiles. I want to get some progress on it and I really do like it.
I will post if I make any noticeable progress during the week. Happy Maynia!
