IHSW Start for December 2023

Life is always crazy this time of year, but I wanted to try to post my before photos for the weekend.

I'm stitching with some friends tonight on Zoom and several of us are working on this sampler by Tricia Nyuen:

I've been making some progress on my HAED by trying to stitch a single thread a day. I don't manage every day, but I figure every stitch counts:
And I managed to get the big center motif done on Susan:
The local Embroidery Guild of America is holding it's Holiday Party on Saturday. I will take something to stitch, but I doubt I will get much done.

Gifted Gorgeousness February 2023

First, thank you for all the lovely comments on the last post. Aren't Jo's blog hops fun?

Here is the Valentine I stitched:

It is a little Mill Hill kit that I stitched while visiting my family. I have an idea how to use it, but need to do a little more stitching....

Today is Gifted Gorgeousness, where we post photos of things we were gifted, are going to gift, have the word gift in them... You get the idea. It is hosted by Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching
I received this Heaven and Earth Design chart years ago and have decided to try to work on it a little every month-500 stitches is my goal.

Here is where I left it in January:

And here I am today:

I also made some progress on Pour ta Fete:

I'm close to the right edge on this piece!

Here is my starting point on Friday:

Gifted Gorgeousness January 2022

Well, I worked a bit on my HAED, Reptiles.

Just a few hundred stitches, but progress is progress.

Oh! You might be wondering what is Gifted Gorgeousness? It is the brainchild of the lovely Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching . Anything that was a gift, is going to be a gift or has the word gift in it. Reptiles counts as I received it as a gift one Christmas.

Thinking and Stitching

I have been thinking about what I will do for the new year. Part of me wants to start some new projects, but the other part of me just wants to finish some of the many things I have in my stash. I mean, I haven't touched Drawn Thread Sampler all year.
And when will Reptiles get done if I never put a stitch on it?
But what I really need to get done is MH 1656. Here is where I am now:
I am not quite half-way through this band and I still need to add the satin stitch. It is a challenge and a joy to stitch. But should I get Baytha from Hands Across the Sea when it is released?

WIP Wednesday

I am never going to get this piece done at the rate I am going! But I do like stitching on it so I gave it some love over the past few days. (Those biscornus aren't due until October and Christmas is months away!) I am a giant procrastinator!!
This is the last photo I showed you:
I did some black and got some fill-in done.

Every little stitch counts!

Gifted Gorgeousness June

Well, I missed the real date, but Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching host a stitch-a-long where you post photos of things you received as a gift or are giving as a gift. I didn't think I had anything but I realized Reptiles was a Christmas gift in 2016!
So here is where I showed it last:
And where I am now!

As you can see, I have made it to the other side of this piece!
I still have a few more stitches to make 1200 for the Full Coverage Fanatics May challenge, but I am happy with my progress.

Z is for Zucchini

I was craving zucchini bread and decided it would be perfect for the last day of the A to Z Challenge.
I managed to get my 1200 stitches done on Reptiles! Yipee!
Now, should I start a new project for May? I need something that will be easy to take in the car. Or should I work on one of my many WIP's?

X is for X-Stitch

I know, I know. Everyone uses cross-stitch for x, but what else could I do?
I am no where near 1200 stitches for this month, but I am super close to a page finish!

E is for Escher

I haven't had time to add any stitches to this piece. Hopefully I will get 1200 in before the end of the month for the Full Coverage Fanatics on Facebook.
And here is my collection of orts for the TUSAL.
This is a very loose SAL where we are to show our little bits and bobs from our stitching.

Escher's Reptiles for March

I was able to get my 1200 stitches into this piece. Sometimes I am tempted to not stitch on it and get something else done. But that is what happened last year and hardly any progress was made on this piece. So I hope to do another 1200 stitches next month.
Here is my starting point for March:
And my ending point:
Slow but steady, Right?

So Much Snow

But because we had so much, I spent a lot of time inside! I managed to get 1200 stitches in on Reptiles. Yipee!
This is what it looked like in January:
And here is where I ended up. I plan on working on it every day, even if it is just one stitch. Don't want to be 100 years old before I complete this!

Reptiles and A Page Finish!

I started this in 2016 and I have only been able to get 4 pages stitched! I am jealous of those people who get a page done a month or more. Fast stitchers!
Here is what it looked like at the beginning of the month:
Here is where I am today (upside down):
 A close-up:
I would love to finish the top of this piece this year. Goals are good....

Reptiles for October

Well, I did not get my 1200 stitches in which is kind of sad.
Here is where I left off in September:
And here is where I am today:
It is too bad that I did not get my 1200 stitches in, as it would have meant a page finish! Oh well. Will see what November brings.

Reptiles for September

Here is where I left off in August:
And here is where I stopped for September.
I think I was able to stitch 1200 stitches, but it is hard to tell.

Not as Much as I Had Hoped

I thought I would do more on this, but I put this down and hardly stitched on it. Maybe in September? (I can hear some of you laughing.....)
Canning season is upon me and I have a lot going on in September, but I can dream, right?

Reptiles Post

Well, I finished a page and did at least 1200 stitches on this piece. Here is where I started at the beginning of the month:
And here is where it is today:
I hope to put a few stitches on it later today. The next page doesn't have a lot of confetti so I should make more progress.

TUSAL

I saw on     Jo's blog  , that it is time for the Totally Useless Stitch-a-Long.  It is always fun to see what other people have collected in their ort jars.
My photo doesn't show it, but there are lots of little sparkly bits in my jar. Some are from Uncle Sam's Hat while others are from Reptiles. Yes Reptiles has a little Kreinik blending filament in it which is a royal pain!!!  I am so close to a page finish that I can taste it!

Can you see the lizard emerging? I can if I look at it just right. Hopefully I can get a page finish and then move back to Drawn Thread Sampler. Although Uncle Sam is calling my name!

More Reptiles

My college boys are home for the week and I am not sure I will get much stitching done. Reptiles was out so I decided to keep stitching on it, at least for today.
Here is where I left off:
 And here I am today:

I am close to a page finish which makes me want to push forward! Waiting for my first lizard to show up!

Reptiles for June

Well, I didn't get 1200 stitches for the month. I did get some stitching in and I love how it looks. Hopefully I can stitch on this a little in July.
Here is where I started:
Here is where I ended for the month:

Are you working on a full coverage piece?
