International Hermit and Stitch Weekend July 2023

Well, this is the weekend we stitch and then post our progress.

At least I think it was...It is usually the 3rd weekend, but I noticed on the Facebook page that it is this weekend. That worked out well for me as my guild had its monthly stitching meeting.

Here are all the projects I worked on this weekend:

Pour ta Fete had stitches put in and then the same stitches taken out:

I donated platelets early Saturday Morning:
I stitched the couching around Shimmering Dreams:
Drawn Thread Sampler has two more squares completed:

Mary Parson's got a few stitches
And I got the stitching done for my Quaker Hornbook and extra pillows!

New Project Start

Well yesterday  I was able to take a class with the fantastic Kathy Andrews from The Unbroken Thread

I started the sampler Mary Parsons:

I was trying to get to the maze, but spent too much time chatting!

 We did have fun!

Gifted Gorgeousness July 2023

Well, today is the day we celebrate all things that are gifted. This is the brainchild of the lovely Jo. Go check her blog out!

Well, I thought I was making great progress on Pour Ta Fete:

I knew I had made a stitch over one, but I thought I could compensate for it. Then I realized I would have issues with the motif that is in the center of the swag! So I spent a bunch of time ripping. Sigh.

Hopefully I can get this section done by next month.

The Fear of Cutting

Well, I finally finished the row I have been stitching:

This is Gay Ann Rogers' Drawn Thread Sampler.

I thought I had finished it, but I had a bunch of needlelace left to do.

The next step is to start cutting threads so I can do more needlelace in each of the little squares. I have 6 left to do. If I could overcome my fear, I could do one a week....Oh! And I have the center square left to do also!

Happy Fourth of July!

Today we celebrate Independence Day. I will get to spend it with family and friends, but I also hope to get a little patriotic stitching done.

Here is my Betsy Ross Needlecase:

I'm trying to get the front of the needlecase to  be at the same point as the back.

Pour Ta Fete- Can I Finish This Year?

I have made some progress on Pour ta Fete:

I have decided to add initials, but now I need to find the email my dad sent me years ago of the family tree. I think it will be fun to commemorate my tias. Here is a photo of the entire piece:

There are plenty of places to add initials.

It's My Birthday Month!

I was going to start a big project this month in celebration of my birthday. But I did a WIP count and I have 30 WIPs!!! And I will be adding two more starts this month! So, my goal is to get at least two WIPS off my list so I can start my big project by the end of the month. Do you think I will succeed?

I am sticking to my "Not One More Thing" challenge. Will see how long that lasts.

Here is my calendar for June:

I didn't stitch one day in June and a few days I only put in a few stitches. Hopefully I will get some serous work done this month.
