Because I have Nothing Better to Do...

I decided to bead a necklace to hold my glasses. It stitched up quick, but I should have been working on something else.

But I wanted them for the Quilt Festival!

Trouble with my Squaredance

I have been working on Orna Willis' Squaredance. The next two photos are Star Walk variations. They were fun and not too difficult.

I am having trouble with Weave Ring. It is a woven stitch and I keep snagging the Neon Rays and it seems to sagging in the middle.

I am going to try it again in a different spot. Maybe with a little practice...

Saturday Stitching Day

I was able to spend all day Saturday working on Solar Flare. I made less progress than I hoped as I did a lot of visiting. Solar Flare needs to be carefully counted. Now I need to get Squaredance out and get my homework done.

A Few Finishes

My son and I finally finished a few Mill Hill bead kits that we had laying around. He did Proud Penguin while I did Downy Dove and Tree Snow Charmer. Only the snowman will be an ornament. My dd has taken the dove as a pin and ds put a magnet on the back of the penguin. Sigh. I still need two more ornaments for Christmas. I had hoped to have that job done early.

Brazilian Embroidery Done

I finished this the other day and I am so happy! I really like the double cast-on flower (center flower) and the cast-on flowers (two side ones). I got a little carried away with the cast-on flowers so they look like mums, but I like them.

I may add some flowers to the shirt collar, but right now I am calling it done. Now to get my dd to finish hers so we can get them critiqued.

Primary Colors for my SOTM 2010

I have finished April which did not take me much time. The color family was supposed to be A-blues in this version, but I wanted red hearts.

I love how it adds so much dimension to the piece.

Brazilian Embroidery-Just Needs Beads

My dd is mad because I have almost finished my piece and she has lots to go. But I have lots more projects in my stash that need to get done, and I want to wear this piece!

Still Squaredancing

I am having fun with Orna Willis's cyberclass. None of the lessons have been very long and so I have been able to keep up.

I have been having a difficult time following directions-my fault, not Orna's. So on this round of dancing I have two squares mixed up. I think it will be fine in the end.

Framed

This is the first Promise of a Mystery by Sue Reed. I decided to get it framed and hang it at Christmas.

This is the frame my dd picked for her fairy. I cannot get a good picture of it.

Tote for my Sister

I am late getting this out, but I made a tote for my little sister. I dyed and painted the fabric which was loads of fun. My sewing skills are not the best so at one point the handles were sewn inside the bag....Rip, rip,rip.

Hope she likes it.
