Squaredance-Framed

This is my framed piece Squaredance by Orna Willis.  It was a Cyberpointers workshop.  Lots of fun and great colors.  I can also say I finished my local EGA challenge.  Yeah!

Squaredance is Done!

I have been spending my spare time putting Ultrasuede squares onto this piece. It looks nice finished. Now I just need to get it to the framer. I really like the marblized canvas Orna chose.

Squaredance with some Ultrasuede

Wow! The Ultrasuede really changes the appearance of the piece. My stitching is not the best, but I love the affect. I am trying to finish it before my local EGA meeting August 9.

I'm an Idiot

Well, I was able to finish all my stitched squares on Squaredance, but I made a huge mistake. I was cutting the ultrasuede that goes between the stitched squares and I did not read the instructions properly. I cut them too big!!! Now I am shy half the ultrasuede. Sigh. I think I will email Orna and see if she has some scraps she could send me. Or if need be, new pieces to cut.

Moral of this story: Always read the directions carefully!

Continuing the Squaredance

My piece looks messy, but it is slowly getting finished. I love the color combinations and the layers of stitches.

But I never did get the hand of the Weave Ring. I managed two, but decided to wait on the third one. I have a feeling it will have a different stitch in that square.

Squaredance Step:Sashay

I started the next lesson for Orna Willis's Squaredance although I never did my Weave Ring stitch.I haven't decided if I will attempt it again or do a different stitch.

Trouble with my Squaredance

I have been working on Orna Willis' Squaredance. The next two photos are Star Walk variations. They were fun and not too difficult.
I am having trouble with Weave Ring. It is a woven stitch and I keep snagging the Neon Rays and it seems to sagging in the middle.

I am going to try it again in a different spot. Maybe with a little practice...

Still Squaredancing

I am having fun with Orna Willis's cyberclass. None of the lessons have been very long and so I have been able to keep up.

I have been having a difficult time following directions-my fault, not Orna's. So on this round of dancing I have two squares mixed up. I think it will be fine in the end.

Squaredance

Here are my squares for the last lesson.
I still have a little more work to do, but this is lots of fun. Orna does a great job of combining threads and stitches in a different way to make a great design. Which is why I don't design as I could never think of the great combinations.

Dancing

I have been working on Orna's Squaredance. It is so much fun! I have a little more to do on two more squares and then I am finished with Lesson One. And horrors! The next lesson won't come out until January 31.
Guess that means I will have to work on something else. I could try to finish my Gay Ann Roger's Echoes piece....Or should I start something new?

Beginning a New Class

Here is the beginning of Squaredance. I am afraid I did not anchor my threads very well. I love the color of the canvas. This is going to be a fun class! BTW, all the black lines are basting and will come out. I hate basting!
