IHSW for July

It was International Hermit and Stitch Weekend and I worked on two pieces.

First up, Pour ta Fete:

Here is where I started:

And here is where I finished:

I decided to work on the alphabets. It made me happy and it feels like I am accomplishing something when I get a letter done.

I also had a finish! Well, not a  fully finished, but a stitching finish:

Purple Mountains Majesty Heart by Gay Ann Rogers. Now I can start the Mystery of St Tropez by Gay Ann with a clear conscience!

Well, I Have a Little Issue

I went with my husband to the local Fourth of July celebration and managed to fall and break my knee cap. (My sister-in-law cracked me up by ,her best New Jersey accent, what mafia person I offended...)

At least I did not break my wrist or elbow which was a concern for a bit.

I'm getting some stitching time. I find it difficult to sit still with my knee all bundled up. No surgery is necessary, but I have 6 weeks of this thing. Sigh.

I am trying to finish Purple Mountain Majesty by Gay Ann Rogers.

My daughter's cat is not impressed either as I dislike all the fur he gets on my cast.

IHSW for June

This past weekend was the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend which takes place the third weekend of every month. I forgot to take before photos, but here is my progress on my pieces:

Start Each Day with Coffee by Stitched Stories-I managed  to get a few word done.

Purple Mountain Majesty by Gay Ann Rogers. I am trying to get the tent stitch done around the words. I think I may focus on this piece in July.

Pour ta Fete by Lindsey Lane Designs. Sorry for the wrinkles. I think I hit the bottom! I have gotten back to the top alphabets.

What did you get done this weekend?

What I did For IHSW May 2022

I did catch my husband's cold. Sigh. But here is what I managed to stitch:

Pour ta Fete

More Than A Rose is finished! Now how shall I fully finish it?

Purple Mountain Majesty Heart:

More tent stitch done on this and lots more to do!

Springhill:

Lots and lots of green left to do.

IHSW for May 2022

Well, it is the beginning of the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend and I shall post what I hope to stitch. We will see. It is gardening season and my poor hubby has a nasty cold. So far I have NOT gotten it, but we shall see...

Pour ta Fete will get attention for sure as I stitch on it pretty much daily:

More than A Rose Group Correspondence Course just needs one more petal. If I don't get sick, it should get finished:
I haven't touched Purple Mountains Majesty Heart by Gay Ann Rogers in almost a week. I was trying to put 15 stitches in a day so I need to play catch-up:
Oh! The IHSW is just a weekend where we try to get a little extra stitching time and post it on the Facebook Group-IHSW-International Hermit and Stitch Weekend

What I have Been Stitching?

First, thanks for all the encouragement on Blue Larkspur. I still need to get with my friend as this piece has caused me numerous frogging encounters. If it is not in properly, the other motifs don't fit. Sigh.

I have been able to get 15 stitches a day(Mostly)  on Purple Mountain Majesty by Gay Ann Rogers.

I need to add the white snow caps next. No chocolate while stitching that!

More Than a Rose is progressing nicely. I am no expert on needlelace, but I am enjoying the process:

And I needed a piece to stitch on Sunday's at my mother-in-law's house. It is dark in there and I need to be able to see my stitching and keep up my end of the conversation. So out came the class I took at the Royal School of Needlework when I visited in 2019. It is a little crewel piece by Chrissie Juno-Mann

No clue what I will do with it, but it has been so fun to stitch!

Purple Mountain Majesty Heart

I try to stitch on this piece every day. It doesn't always happen, but I am making progress.

Here it is from March 21:

 Here I am today:

Trying to get all the tent stitch done so I can work on the fun stuff!

I really want to start a new piece as I feel like it might cheer me up a bit. But a bit of progress on one or all of these would also be a blessing!

Gifted Gorgeousness March 2022

Well, I am glad I have a reminder on my phone for this lovely little challenge. I was wondering, what have I stitched that could count as a "gift"? Hmmm. Not Purple Mountain Majesty by Gay Ann Rogers-

(The trees are supposed to be half crosses, BTW. They just look a little weird to me.)

Not More Than A Rose by Melinda Sherbring:

You can't tell, but there is a ton of shiny threads on this piece!

Put Pour ta Fete will work!  I think the original sampler was stitched as a gift for an aunt! That counts, doesn't it?

Go check Jo's Blog out to see more Gifted Gorgeousness!

Gay Ann Rogers Challenge

Gay Ann Rogers posted a challenge to stitch 15 stitches a day. I'm all for a new challenge! I decided to use Purple Mountain Majesty Heart as it has a ton of tent stitch that needs to be done.

Here is my start:

Here is my "15 stitches:"

Ignore the crazy trees. They get another layer and I will fix them then.

My New Start

Because I need something small to work on and I have quite the collection of Gay Ann Roger's hearts, I decided to pull out Purple Mountain Majesty, which is part of her Patriotic Heart series:

Not much of a start, but getting the outline done takes a bit.Hopefully I can work on this a bit each month and get one heart stitched this year.

Thank you for your kind words. I am still not sure what I will use for my travel project. But I am sure I have something in my stash that will work.
