Beginning of a Hermit Weekend!

 Well, I almost forgot what the day was, but remembered in the nick of time! What is the Hermit Weekend or the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend (IHSW for short)? It is the third weekend in the month where we try to take extra time to stitch. Won't happen for me as I have college kids headed my way. Yipee! But they always come hungry for home cooking....

Anyway, I plan on stitching a few things:

A new start that I haven't even shared on my blog! Pour Ta Fete by Lindsay Lane Designs on 56 count Sycamore Seed pod and Soie Surfine. I must be NUTS! (I am further along than this photo shows, but this is the only one I took.)

That should keep me busy! Now off to dig up my peanut brittle recipe as I need to get a batch made before my kids show up.

Gifted Gorgeousness November 2021

 I have another finish! Well, two actually!

The first one is for my mother. My sisters told me not to send it as a table runner as my mother would frame it and there is no room on the walls for another picture. They suggested the pillow which she could use in her living room or bedroom.

I added the tatting which I found a couple of years ago at an antique store.

I tried tatting once-lots of work!

The second finish is Marion Lang from Sassafras Samplers. It will be a gift from my sister-in-law:

A Finish and A Start

 I took some time and finished Byzantine Rose by Avlea Folk Embroidery.

It was a fun stitch and perfect for taking in the camper or to my mother-in-law's. We go to visit her every Sunday and I need something portable and easy to stitch while we visit.

I was going to start Bushland Quaker by Mojo Stitches as my new start. I mean, look at these threads!

(Excuse my helper, Gimpy!) 

I decided against starting this piece because I did not have fabric prepped and I wanted to stitch the piece on 40 count linen. This would make it difficult to stitch at my mother-in-law's house!

So I decided to start Blue Larkspur from Avlea Folk Embroidery. I mean, why not? It came fully kitted with everything but scissors and hoop!

The fabric is 30 count Legacy Linen Victoria Spongecake which I didn't think I would like. WRONG! Love it! This will take a bit to finish, but I am enjoying the time I get with it.

More Progress on Springhill

 This piece really calls to me right now. I was exercising and thinking about what I want to stitch in 2022. (It's not too early, is it?) But I kept thinking, "I want to finish Springhill!"

A Needlepoint Fully Finished

Very excited that I managed to get this totally finished. Lots of fun and a really fast stitch.

 This is so close! I need to add some more beads. Then comes the "hard" part of fully finishing this:

It is made into a bowl shape. I'll share it with you when I finally get done.

 Well, it is a new moon so it is time for my favorite SAL-The Totally Useless Stitch a Long. It is a day to show your orts and post photos on social media. 

I have gone back to my blue ball jar. Why? To be honest, it is the easiest for me to hit with my orts...
