 I finished my Stitched Stories piece so I decided I could start this guy.

Making X's

 Sometimes you just don't want to think. 

A New Start

 I love Avlea projects! I want to make some pillows for my house and realized I have this kit from Avlea.

I have found that I must enlarge the pattern and paste my fabric.

Not every 10 threads! No one has time for that! But a horizontal and vertical line along with diagonals. This gives me a reference point to make sure I don't make a mistake. At least in theory....I also need to mark the top. I like my x's to go in the same direction.

Lots of Letters

 I'm plugging away at this piece:

I'm ready for the bottom of this sampler which is full of specialty stitches.

I Did Finish Something

 

This is a little embroidery piece from Stitches Stories. A fun stitch and I highly recommend her kits.

Doodle Cloth

 I have been working on my art quilt for years now. I take it out and put it away. I keep wondering what I like and what I don't like about it.

I think I was trying to make the quilt say something that it isn't saying.  So I decided to just start stitching on it.

While stitching I realized this is just a huge doodle cloth. Not a doodle cloth to practice stitches, but a cloth that I doodle stitch. 

That thought made me happy.

My Second Try

 I decided to make another leaf. This one is larger and I think the color works better.

The vine in the larger leaf is brown.

I loved making these! I know that I will be making the apple from Inspirations Magazine and making another leaf.

A Peyote Russian Leaf

 

I don't think this one the wrong color for my pear, so I will make another one.

 I pulled this sampler to get a little bit more done.

Messy Theeads

 I'm working on a project with Vikki Clayton silks. She has bags of leftover threads that she sells on her website. I decided to play with them.

I think it will work..

Perf Linen

 Did I show this? I don't think I did. Vikki Clayton of Hand-dyed Fibers has released perf linen. It's 40 count and I can stitch it over one!!! Love it. She is selling teeny tiny hoops so I had to see what I could do with it. Once I finish the stitching on my pear, I will make some more of these charms.

Moving Along

 I am on a roll with the pear. I added sparkle to three sections with Accentuate.

I'm now adding beads to the last three sections.

I need to make a leaf but I won't assemble this until November. I'll be stitching it with the Mississippi River Valley Chapter of EGA. 

Sparkle!

 I have started adding the sparkle to my second pear. I'm using Accentuate #257

 I made some progress on Christian Henry by Sassafras Samplers 

I always stitch upside down. Why? I'm not sure. But I am enjoying this piece. Life is a little stressful so this is a nice, calming stitch.

The pattern was from The Attic along with the original conversion. I changed colors from threads I bought from Sassy Jack's. Soie Surfine and 56 count Sycamore Seedpod. I need to look at my WIPs and see what else I can finish.

Gifted Gorgeousness August 2025

 Today is the day we post items that have to do with gifts. The complete information can be found at Serendipitous Stitching the awesome blog by Jo.

A friend and her husband are fantastic gardeners. I went the other day and picked banana peppers that I pickled:

I also made honey mustard pickles that I will gift later this fall.

I have been working on Pour ta Fete. I keep thinking I will finish this month, but I know it won't get done until December. Lots and lots of tiny stitches!
