Well, This Didn't Work

I put padding on the bearded dragon's head and then put some ultra suede on top of it. My stitching on it is bad, but I have decided it is too big.

Luckily I'm meeting a very talented needlepoint friend on Friday and will get her opinion. It's almost right, but I'm not quite happy. Needle weaving is one suggestion. Ruching(sp?) is the other.

Honestly, I never would have thought anything of it if you hadn't mentioned something. It's a delightful piece of colorful reptiles. Hopefully, your friend will have some suggestions that will make you feel better about the piece. Happy stitching! -Andrea

I looked at photos of bearded dragons. They appear to have smooth heads with raised dots along the sides and some spikes. How about cutting off the fringe, adding beads along the edges, and creating spikes with a few strings of beads? You might play with colors to see what looked good on the purple Ultrasuede. Just an idea.

It’s tricky because it looks so different to the other two creatures. The purple is a lovely colour though.

I'm looking forward to see whether you figured this one out. It looks like you really want the bearded dragon to stand out from his friends!
