A friend and I were discussing a blog we found where the artist works for 30 minutes every day on a painting or page and is done. Her husband commented that she does that every day-she exercises 30 minutes every morning. So she is going to start working on a stitching project for 30 minutes a day.
It made me think, "I stitch 30 minutes most evenings on a single project."
Here it is at the beginning of my session:
And after 30 minutes:
Not a huge difference, but progress. I was counting stitches and trying to get about 30 done a night on this piece, but minutes are easier for me to keep track of.
What about you? Do you stitch for 30 minutes on one project? Can you see progress on it?

I like the discipline of this - I can see your progress on this piece, and I bet it would keep your spirits up for those pieces that you stitch on for a while and then wonder what you even got done.
I have a Sunday stitching project, I get about 30 to 45 mins a week stitching done. Sometimes I can' tell and others it makes a big differance.
I can see progress Beth. I have tried counting stitches and doing the so many minutes. They both bug me so I just stitch whatever. Works better for me.

I do something very similar but not for 30 minutes. Instead I stitch for the duration of my son's bath! I have to be in the room to supervise but he's happy to play so I stitch. I started doing whatever I had to hand but then I had a large monochrome design I knew I would get bored with if I stitched it constantly so I stitched it during bathtime. Over the course of several months it was finished and I started another monochrome piece.
Some nights I get 15 minutes, some over 30 minutes but the stitching still grows and people laugh when I describe a piece as "my bathtime project" imagining that I am in the bath stitching!
I try to stitch for 30 minutes of my lunch hour 5 days a week. I'm surprised on how much I've gotten done on my two traveling projects. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on one of them. I just need to do the same each night when I get home.
I don't time or count, I just stitch as much as possible whenever possible.
I'm thinking about doing something like that next year. I'd like to spend most of my time on some BAPs, but would still like to progress on smaller projects. Aiming for 30 minutes a day on one of them and the rest of the time on the other project should help move everything along.
Nice progress!
