Fixing A Mistake

I made a huge mistake on my eyelets on this piece.

I didn't take a photo as I was so mad! But I attended my local Embroidery Guild of America meeting and a friend was also working on a piece with eyelets. 47 count linen, I believe!! Yikes! Anyway, she reminded me that I should be doing half of the eyelet and moving around the letter. Once I did that, it went much better.

Join us tonight for Fiber Talk Live.  It is at 8:00 pm Eastern on Wednesday June 30th. We are talking to

Dima from D1-D2 who is a fabulous stitcher!

Close to A Finish

I am super close to finishing this piece. It needs one more night of work and it should be done.

I think this is upside down, but you get the idea. Once it is done, I need to take the time to mount it on some cardboard and put it on the cover of my next bullet journal.

IHSW for June

It is hard to believe that it was the 3rd weekend of the month.

There is a Facebook group for this weekend or you can check it out on Jo's blog.

Here is what I worked on:

Pretty Little Baby-Satsuma Street

I finished the name, but realized I shouldn't post it here.... Now to fully finish it and send it to my nephew and his wife and baby.

Here is Agnus Dei:

Finish

It feels like a major accomplishment that I am almost to the corner. I still have the center to do, but I can feel a finish!

Here is my Ode to a Palette class project:

A bit more to do on it, but I feel like I made some progress. My hope is to have it done by the end of June. It is supposed to be the cover for my next Bullet Journal.

WIP Wednesday

This is a fun stitch and I need to get back to her:

So many other things are calling my name that it is difficult to concentrate on one item. Maybe if I did, I would have more finishes!

Gifted Gorgeousness for June 2021

This lovely SAL is hosted by Jo over at  Serendipitous Stitching. I have been working on Agnus Dei almost every day. I love seeing the patterns emerge.

I would love to get a page finish by the end of June. Need to rummage through my threads and find the right white for the Lamb of God in the center.

A Baby Gift

Well, my great-niece has arrived and I need to finish this piece and send it off before she gets too old!

A letter a day and I would be done this week! Don't hold your breath though....

Totally Useless Stitch a Long for June 2021

I must admit that the TUSAL is my favorite SAL. All I have to do is remember to post!

 Here are my orts:

I keep this beautiful ort container in my bedroom to place my orts in during Zoom meetings.

Here is the jar in my living room by my glass of green tea. It was too hot for coffee this morning.

Learning More About Color

I'm slowly working on my Ode to the Palette Class. Here is my beginning:

And here are my thread colors:
One thing I found that was interesting was my colors are an analogous color scheme:
I am not sure about my color choice of the "white" which is in the center and the pinky color... Hopefully I will settle on something soon.

Agnus Dei Progress over

Well, I was going to try to create a video of my stitching on Agnus Dei over the past 10 days, but I cannot figure it out. I'm sure there is a tutorial, but I am too tired to think about it. Since I doubt ANYONE wants to look at 9 photos of my piece, I will just share two.

Here is my starting point which was May 28th:

And here is where I ended yesterday, June 6:

A little more stitching and I will have a page finish. Yipee!

Other Stuff

Besides stitching, gardening season has arrived. I never realized it, but I really don't like strawberries. This is sad, because we almost always have a bumper crop.

Thank goodness my husband likes them. I may make some jam before the season is out. I do like strawberry jam!

We also picked up my daughter from the train station. We are getting her ready to do an internship so she will quickly depart again. She would like to have a car for the summer. Anyone have an extra? ;)

I also baked some bread.

Rotation Failure

I had a brilliant idea to rotate through my stitching projects. Two days on Royal Garden, Springhill and 17th Century Whitework Sampler with Sunday for my Gay Ann Rogers piece. I stuck to it for maybe one week. Then life and the realization that I need to work on my Color Wheel course took over.

What Color Wheel course, you may ask? Well, the one Fiber Talk got me into...

Sew by Hand

This is not an easy class and I am dreadfully behind. But boy am I learning stuff! Like how colors react when they are next to each other. How colors change when on different backgrounds.

Here is the image I am using for my color study:

It is called "He who takes another road and enjoys the journey".

Here are my thread choices, although I will probably pull tints and tones of them as I stitch:

Here is my calendar. I missed two days stitching in May. Not too bad....
