IHSW February

Well, I managed a little stitching for the weekend.

What is International Hermit and Stitch Weekend?  It is the 3rd weekend of the month where you TRY to get a little more stitching time. I failed miserably. To be honest, I was feeling rather blue. I had just lost two dear friends to COVID and was mourning their passing. I do know they are in heaven with their Savior Jesus, and so my mourning is more for my loss. How I will miss my morning Marco Polos with my dear friend!

Anyway, that is why I didn't get as much done as I had hoped.

My #100dayproject-

Start:

Finish:

Springhill:

I did not like the yellow that was called for:

So I ripped:
And ended here:

And last, but not least Agnus Dei:

It is beginning to warm up here-today it will be above 32 F! Yipee! So my dear husband and I have been walking:

I am so looking forward to spring!

New Threads

Well, I was a enticed by Gary over at Fiber Talk

 to join Sassy Jack's

new Cosmos floss club. If you use FTCOSMO in the order form you get 5 extra flosses, in blue!

So what is a girl to do?

You might say "Beth, there are more flosses there than just Cosmos threads!" And you would be right! Kim was also offering a great price on 100/3 and Soie Alger from Au ver a Soie. So what is a girl to do? I have no plans for these threads YET, but an idea is percolating.

Thank goodness it is the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend so I can get a little extra stitching done!

Gifted Gorgeousness ofr February

As some of you know, I joined the insanity of  #the100dayproject . Why? Because I am nuts. Anyway, I decided to work on gifts as I have lots I want to make, but never carve out the time.

My daughter received a sweatshirt for Christmas, but it was white. She thought that it would be a pain to keep clean and asked me to dye it and then do some stitching.

It was fun to do and I am busy working on my next project(s). Will try to post a photo of them as I make some progress.

Oh! This is hosted by Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching       .

Secret Stitching Sweetheart Blog Hop 2021

Jo over at     Serendipitous Stitching        always has the best blog hops! This is the one where we send Jo a photo in February  she will forward it to another participant, then we  hop around the blogs to see who got our picture.

It is a great way to meet other bloggers and see some beautiful stitching!

Here is what was sent to me:

Isn't it gorgeous? I think it is an Emily Bishop design. Or maybe Stoney Creek... What do you think? It is fabulous and whoever made it did an excellent job. Would love to have it hanging in my house!

Don't forget to go to Jo's blog and see what everyone else has stitched!

TUSAL February

This is a fun SAL where we show the little bits of threads and fabric we have collected over the month. Totally Useless, but so much fun to see the bits and bobs.

Here is my little bowl full of orts. Lots of stitching over the past month. If you look closely, you can see a bit of fuzzy threads. That was a bit of ripping. Not as fun, but there you go!

Daffycat is the one who hosts this SAL.

Agnus Dei Progress

I have a funny story. Or at least it was funny to me.... My dear mother-in-law saw me stitching this piece when we went to do a little bit of work for her. She asked, ever so sweetly, "Are you going to work on that until it is finished?" I managed not to howl in laughter, but told her no, it is my traveling project. She is very sweet, but she doesn't stitch.

I do find this piece relaxing as there are always bits that I can stitch without doing a bunch of counting.

My New Project

I got my photo to load and have decided to take a hot minute and do a post.

Doesn't look like much, does it? It is the start on Gay Ann Rogers' Betsy Ross Needlecase.

This is what it will look like on the outside.   I like having a little needlepoint piece to work on as I am finding that I get tired of all the tiny x's I am making with cross stitch.

I Will Be Ripping

Sigh. I am in the wrong place with this band. The instructions are good, but it is hard to do this stitch in the right place. The whole band is not graphed out and I may have to do that myself...

I should have put the leaf in on the left to make sure I was in the right place. I know the far left part is incorrect. But where is my mistake? And the bottom vine has to be totally removed as it is in the wrong place. Sigh. Maybe tomorrow.

It is cold and snowy here and I have decided that I need a new start...But I can't get a photo to load so you will have to wait until I get my act together. Stay safe! Stay warm! Keep stitching!

17th Century Whitework Sampler

A group of us are working on this piece. One gal is ahead of us and had a lot of trouble with this row.

I think I am in the right place, but it is hard to say. I may add the little leaf that is in this row and then continue stitching. It is fun and I like the colors I am using. But this requires a bit of concentration.

Still haven't started a new piece. Tomorrow? The weekend?

Trying to Figure Out a Rotation

I have been rotating through several projects. But I really don't have a rhyme or a reason. I really just stitch what I feel like stitching.

This piece is fun. I stitch upside down as I cannot reach the top unless it is positioned this way.

I have an urge to start a small needlepoint piece. Should I? Just what I need; another project!
