Gifted Gorgeousness November 2021

I have another finish! Well, two actually!

The first one is for my mother. My sisters told me not to send it as a table runner as my mother would frame it and there is no room on the walls for another picture. They suggested the pillow which she could use in her living room or bedroom.

I added the tatting which I found a couple of years ago at an antique store.
I tried tatting once-lots of work!

The second finish is Marion Lang from Sassafras Samplers. It will be a gift from my sister-in-law:

If you want to see how it was laced, FiberTalk did a video of it HERE.

Another Finish for August!

I was able to get Agnus Dei finished! Yipee!

I am debating on whether to hem stitch the edge or frame the piece. The easiest would be to frame it. Actually, I won't frame it. I will send it to my mom and let HER frame it.

What do you think?

IHSW for August 2021

Well, it was the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend and I forgot to take before photos...

What is IHSW? Do you run away and stitch? No, it is just a weekend where you purposefully take time to stitch. It could be an extra hour, an extra 15 minutes, whatever. You are supposed to post before and after photos, but whatever!  It is the brainchild of the lovely Jo .

Here are my photos:

Agnus Dei is moving along:

I pulled Springhill out again. I figure if I get one or two threads on it a night, I will see progress.
And I started on my Lizard needlepoint canvas.

I need to figure out a background stitch so it may go back to the corner....

What did you work on this weekend?

Gifted Gorgeousness for August 2021

Well, it is time for the SAL where we post our progress on things that are gifts, going to be gifts and/or were a gift... It is the brainchild of the wonder Jo from   Serendipitous Stitching    .

I have been plugging away at Agnus Dei.

I also made a peach pie for my my mother-in-law;

It was pretty good. I prefer jam to pie so I will be canning some soon.

Well, Fudge!

I made a mistake on the right hand motif in the center section..

So I spent the morning stitching time, ripping...

Now I am ready to start again!

Just in time for World Cross Stitch Day August 13, 2021!

Didn't Meet My July Goals

I had hoped I would be able to finish Agnus Dei in July. No such luck.

Here is where I started on Agnus Dei:

And here is where I ended:

But I am getting closer!!!

IHSW for July

I was so lucky this month! Our church hosted a scrapbook event and I went and stitched all day! Well, not all day. I sat and chatted too. And ate. And did a few laps around the gym. But mainly I stitched!

So here is my starting spot for Agnus Dei:

And where I ended:

I took Royal Garden with me:

And I finished the sprats heads in one corner. (Hard to talk and count with them!)

And I ripped a bunch of stitches from my Bristol Squirrel (I made a mistake on some of my x's!)

Pretty orts, don't you think?
And where I ended:
I would like to get this stitched so I can learn how to make a berry with my local Embroidery Guild of America.....

Gifted Gorgeousness for July

This is a wonderful SAL put on by Jo over at   Serendipitous Stitching  . It has to be a gift for someone, a gift from someone, have the word gift in it....You get the idea!

This is going to be a gift for my mom, if I ever get it done:

Agnus Dei-Modern Folk Embroidery

I am so close to getting that right border done! I do the little circle motifs as a treat...

If I was smart, I would work on Agnus Dei until it is complete, but I never said I was smart...

So I started a new project:

Bristol Squirrel Partial

How could I resist?!? It will be a gift for my mother in law who likes squirrels.

Agnus Dei Progress Report

I have been able to make some serious progress on this piece.

I need to dig through my stash to find a thread that I like to do the center, as I want the Lamb of God to be a pure white. The thread I am using is variegated and I don't think it will work.
So close to having that little bit meet.
Can I concentrate on this piece and get it done in July?

IHSW for June

It is hard to believe that it was the 3rd weekend of the month.

There is a Facebook group for this weekend or you can check it out on Jo's blog.

Here is what I worked on:

Pretty Little Baby-Satsuma Street

I finished the name, but realized I shouldn't post it here.... Now to fully finish it and send it to my nephew and his wife and baby.

Here is Agnus Dei:

Start

Finish

It feels like a major accomplishment that I am almost to the corner. I still have the center to do, but I can feel a finish!

Here is my Ode to a Palette class project:

A bit more to do on it, but I feel like I made some progress. My hope is to have it done by the end of June. It is supposed to be the cover for my next Bullet Journal.

Gifted Gorgeousness for June 2021

This lovely SAL is hosted by Jo over at  Serendipitous Stitching. I have been working on Agnus Dei almost every day. I love seeing the patterns emerge.

I would love to get a page finish by the end of June. Need to rummage through my threads and find the right white for the Lamb of God in the center.

Agnus Dei Progress over

Well, I was going to try to create a video of my stitching on Agnus Dei over the past 10 days, but I cannot figure it out. I'm sure there is a tutorial, but I am too tired to think about it. Since I doubt ANYONE wants to look at 9 photos of my piece, I will just share two.

Here is my starting point which was May 28th:

And here is where I ended yesterday, June 6:

A little more stitching and I will have a page finish. Yipee!

The 100 Day Project

It has been forever since I posted! I have done a bit of traveling and then came home to a garden that needed attention. Oh well. Such is life.

First, here is the final day of my #the100dayproject:

Sorry for the wrinkles. I am waiting to do the center as I think I will do the Lamb of God in a true white. Yes, more than half done. I continue to work on it daily as I would love to have this stitched and framed to give to my mom.

U is for Silks4U

I know, it is a stretch, but I was a little stuck on this one! If you have not tried Silks4U, I highly recommend them. I used their silk for my Linen and Thread SAL last year.

And I am using it for Agnus Dei:
