WIP Wednesday-Spring and a Cat

Since my middle child is taking driver's education, I have a 2 hour wait, four nights a week.  This has given me ample time to stitch on Spring Splendor.  What you see is more like ten days of work, but every little bit counts.  I am not allowing myself any other large projects until this is done!

Below is Miss Chessie's Tuffet.  It has been my take along and 12 stitches project for quite a while.  The yellow overdye is one I did myself.  The kitty will be made into a scissors fob which my dd has said she would like.  The front of the biscornu is stitched and all that needs to be done is the back.  It is a simple piece that I find relaxing to work.

Agecroft Finished!

I actually finished this earlier this month, but this was my first opportunity to share.  Two finishes in a month!  Amazing!

The Rest of January

Add caption
I have picked what I am doing for the rest of my starts, I just don't have them in yet.  This first start is a trio of Christmas ornaments my EGA picked called Humbugs.  I keep calling them Bah Humbugs, but we shall see if that is really the case.  I hope to do 2 of the 3 this year.
I have not decided which of these Mill Hill bead kits will join my Crazy January Challenge.  I will have to decide later.
If I got my count correct, my last two starts are Judy Soulistis's Dragon Purse which I am taking through  the San Benadino ANG, and Jean Hilton's Puzzle Purse through Cberpointers ANG chapter.

Days 20-26 And WIP Wednesday

I decided to post all these together rather than bore you with individual posts.  First up is a canvas piece entitled Elizabeth I, A Portrait by Gay Ann Rogers.  All I have done so far is start on the basting.

The next group is some of my many Christmas ornaments that I hope to finish this year.  The Santas are by Janet Zickler Casey and are just a few that I have in my stash.  The Quartet of Ornaments are by Marilyn Owen. I was supposed to stitch them last year with Cyberpointers.  She even gives finishing instructions!

Here is Spring Splendor.  I hope to work on it daily and get it done.  I do not like the piece.  It is not the design or the designer; I just don't like stitching Japanese Embroidery. But my family loves it so I will finish it.

Day 19-Venetian Delight

This piece has not been touched since the ANG seminar in Albuquerque.  Was that 2002 or 2003?  I cannot remember.  I do remember Ro Pace and Jean Hilton teaching together and being terrified of being over my head.  They did a great job of showing me what to do and I hate having this piece langish in the basement.  I am afraid it will have to wait its turn...
Just to show you that I am getting some things closer to being done, here is a picture of the Agecroft Sweet Bag.  Putting all the sequins in took some time and I am trying to do the hemstitch on the top so I can finish this myself.  (Sorry this picture is so "blue."  I think I need to work on lighting for my photos.)

Day 18- O'Star of Wonder

I have a note that I started this in 2010.  I have had the pattern much longer and would really would like to see it done.  The designer is Candamar Designs and it is cross stitch.

Please remember that all this are WIP's that I hope to get done in 2013 or at least make progress on.

Day 17

This is Maple Leaf by Laura Perin. It too is close to being done.  I just need to bring it up and work on it.  But I could say that about a lot of projects!

Day 16

Yes, you have seen this before.  It is Solar Flare by Ro Pace.  I am so close to being done that it seems a shame to leave it in the basement.

Day 15

This is another Crazy January Challenge from 2012 called Butterfly by Alessandria Adelaide.  I have everything ready to go on it.  Hopefully it will get done next year.
My debate is whether to start new projects for the rest of the Crazy January Challenge 2013 or put more WIP's on my list.  There are 31 days in January...I will  decide tomorrow.

Day 14

Coq Au Pins by Twisted Oak.  There are two starts here: one is mine-very little stitched and the other is my ds's.  He thinks he made a mistake and it went to the basement to live.  I may see if I can fix his error and try to finish his.  Hey!  If it moves out of the basement, it is a good thing!

Day 13

This is the Agecroft Sweet Bag by Catherine Jordan.  She did the pattern for EGA and it is very close to being done.  But now I remember why it moved to the basement.  The gold chain stitch is difficult to do and I used Sulky to transfer the design.  Gold chain I can live with but how to remove the Sulky?  (It is a washable stabilizer.)  I am afraid if I dunk the piece in water the reds will bleed like mad.  I will finish the stitching and then see what I can do.  I have enjoyed stitching it and I am so close to being done!

Day 12

Heirloom Stitching Sampler by Thea Dueck has been in my basement all last year.  I love the colors on the piece and several members of my guild have finished it.  Hopefully I will get back to work on it this year.

Day 11

Look!  I made progress on something!  It is Merrily, Merrily by Barbara Jackson.  It will be a little Christmas ornament and I am enjoying stitching it.

Day 10 or What is this Mess?

Remeber that Color Wheel Quuilt from  Day 7?  Well, this is the rest of the class.  Or at least what I have dyed and rinsed so far.  My laundry room has 48 more squares waiting to be rinsed.  These squares are to be made into a wall hanging or quilt or something.  But currently they live in my basement.  The goal is to do something with them and let them see the light of day.

Day 7, 8 and 9

This is a Color Wheel quilt that I need to put borders on and quilt.
Next is a little pillow and scissors fob.
And last is ths B needlepoint that I need to reverse stitch and then redo the flowers-Brazilian or silk ribbon?

Day 6

This is Buzzy Day and is my Day 6 WIP.  It is a Mill Hill Bead kit and is my current carry along project.

I hope to get some pictures taken today and post Day 7 and 8.  It all depends on how the day goes...

Day 5

This is an EGA workshop I took a few years ago.  I got the little bookmark done, but not the bigger boxtop.  It is Ukraninian Nyzynka  designed by Phyllis Maurer.  It has a bit more to go on the "flowering" but not much.  What shall I do with it when it is done?

Heart of Elizabeth Stitched!

This will go to the finisher next week.  I still can't load pictures from my camera, but managed to load it on Picasa.  Go figure...

Day 4

Illinois Canvas will be my next WIP.  It has sat in the basement for a year.  It doesn't have much more to go, I just need to bring it up and start working on it.

I finished Heart of Elizabeth.  I can't get Blogger to load a photo from my camera.  Will see if I can get some help later today.

Day 3

This is what I have done on my mom's quilt.  I missed finishing it for her birthday, but it is still on my to do list.  It will get done!

Day 2 of WIP Crazies

My next WIP is Spring Splendor.  It has a due date of June and I am bound and determined to get it done!  I will have time tonight to pull the gold under, I hope.

I managed to put the jewels onto Heart of Elizabeth last night.  We always watch PBS and the Vienna show on January 1; it is a family tradition.  I could listen to the music and put the beads in place.  If I have time today, I will try to finish the necklace.

I need to take some time and do some housekeeping on this blog.  Not today as I need to make a grocery run.  Teenagers.  But hopefully I can get it fixed this week.  After all, I did take my tree down in the house already!
