Echoes of Elizabeth Needlecase

I have been working on this in the evenings while my family listens to Lord of the Rings.
I changed the colors as I love having it very red. I tried to have one row of the partial Scotch stitch with DMC 3799, but it was too dark. I used DMC 815 (burgandy) instead. I like it.
I am using the DMC 3799 for the smyrna cross and over-stitch as seen in the photo above. This is a fun piece and I am bound and determined to finish it this year.

My Tote Bag

For some reason that I can't understand, my pictures always load the opposite way I want them। Gremlins in the computer?
This is a picture of San Raphael that I stitched onto the pocket of my bag. This is El Nino, also on a pocket.
The entire bag:

I bought this fabric last year at the International Quilt Show and attempted to start a tote bag। Finally, with a lot of help from my librarian friends, I finished it last night। Now I need more fabric so I can make another bag! Also, I originally planned this as a Christmas gift for my mom। Should I still send it to her? My kids say yes, wrapped with a note saying "Do not open until Christmas."

Some Red on the Solar Flare

I did a little more on Solar Flare over the last few days। I am ripping less, but it still takes me a lot of time। Of course it is fun to see the piece develop as more colors are added.

Some Leaves

I managed to get a few leaves done on my Brazilian Embroidery piece। They are more difficult than I thought they would be। I look forward to starting some of the flowers.

Another Cell on Solar Flare

Not much progress to see, but I thought I would post what took me two nights to accomplish.

Brazilian Embroidery Class

My dd wanted to take Ganet Burr's Brazilian Embroidery Purse through EGA। I have a shirt that I dyed that needed something। So we are taking the class together। So far, I find it relaxing. Here is my little bit of progress with Ro Pace's Solar Flare। Slowly but surely....

Promise of A Mystery २०१०-January and February

My EGA-Mississippi River Valley Chapter-has permission to teach this piece at our meetings। I am programs with anothe gal, so I felt I needed to have a piece in progress for the ladies to see। I will be changing things this time। The corner eyelets were supposed to be red (Family B), but I changed them to yellow/orange(Family C)। Hopefully I won't be ripping as I hate working with the Blending Filament.

Challenge

My local EGA is challenging us to finish some pieces। I could have choosen some older WIP, but decided I wanted to get these done।
First is Ro Pace's Solar Flare। Remember it from last year? I haven't worked on it in ages. Next is Orna Willis's Squaredance। I just started it, but I am bound and determined to keep up this year.

What are you stitching this year?

Another Promise of A Mystery

First, here is a picture of my Echoes of Elizabeth Needlecase by Gay Ann Rogers. I am doing a little every morning and hoping to finish it this year। Maybe before her e-week sale so I can buy something. Here is a photo of my new Promise। I started it last night with the hopes of getting through the February lessons before Orna Willis posts the next lesson for Squaredance। I dyed the floss and perle cotton myself and have yet to decide if I will use the orange or pale yellow for the Family C.
I may be totally insane, but I am thinking of stitching yet another one all in flosses and a few Kreiniks...

Dancing

I have been working on Orna's Squaredance. It is so much fun! I have a little more to do on two more squares and then I am finished with Lesson One. And horrors! The next lesson won't come out until January 31.
Guess that means I will have to work on something else. I could try to finish my Gay Ann Roger's Echoes piece....Or should I start something new?

Beginning a New Class

Here is the beginning of Squaredance. I am afraid I did not anchor my threads very well. I love the color of the canvas. This is going to be a fun class! BTW, all the black lines are basting and will come out. I hate basting!
Black Promise of a Mystery:

Before I get distracted, here are my thread colors for the "black" Promise of a Mystery-ANG SOTM:

Family A: 164 Cinnabar Watercolours
72 Anchor Floss
080 Kreinik

Family B:320 DMC floss and #5 perle cotton
091 Kreinik Blending Filament
3215 Kreinik

Family C:3753 DMC Floss and #5 perle cotton
214 Kreinik
Hope this helps!

Gay Ann Roger's Echoes of Elizabeth Pockets

Just a quick showing of my pockets that I finished yesterday. I am sorry the picture isn't better. The needles pocket has the mistake in the bottom section. I like it and will leave it. Also, Gay Ann used blue at the bottom instead of red. I love red and decided to use all red.

First Finishes of 2011

Ok. So I was almost done with these. But I put the last few beads on Rhiannon this afternoon, so she is done! I need to wash and iron her and get her ready to frame, but she is out of my stitching pile. Rhiannon by Nora Corbett

And I have put the beads on my blue SOTM. There is still one section to go, but I will have to wait until February to do it. I am using this to demonstrate for my local EGA.

I am glad it is done since my Orna Willis class starts tomorrow. I should be working on a WIP, but I feel the need to start something new. So my goal is to keep up in Squaredance and not allow it to become a WIP.
(Once these pieces are framed, I will add points to my thread count. Maybe.)
