WIPocalypse November 2023

It is time for another WIPocalypse post. You can find all the pertinent information at Melissa's blog

Her question this month is: What is your favorite way to finish ornaments and/or smalls? Truth be told, I have finishing projects so my favorite way is to send them to a finisher. Or do Mill Hill bead kits which I can finish on my own.

Here is what I have been stitching:

Susan Schlitcher 1845:

She calls to me and I have a hard time putting her away.

Dawn to Dusk:

Finished the Letter K for the Sampler Book:

And I did a small amount of work on my 17th Century Sampler:

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends. This turkey is on my wish list. I must be nuts!

IHSW-November 2023

Well, I managed to stitch this weekend and do a little finish. Happy dance for me!

This is from Erica Michael's Sampler Book that I am stitching with my guild. Hope everyone else managed to get more stitching done than I managed.

Gifted Gorgeousness for November 2023

This lovely SAL is hosted by the wonderful Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching. Just post a photo of something that is a gift, was gifted to you or you call call a gift in some way.

These hearts fit so well into this category. Clara over at Clara Stitching taught me how to make these hearts on her workshop although I swore I didn't like goldwork. Her teaching was a gift to me! I made two as gifts for my mom:

And then my sister said she would like to gift this one to a friend:

I still need to put a backing on them and a pin of some type. The last one needs a cross too, but I will be able to put them in the mail before Christmas which is also a win!

Which reminds me, I need to get to work on my ornament exchange...

Today is TUSAL November 2023

I love this SAL! All you need to do is post a photo of your orts. I love seeing all the bits of thread I have left from stitching during the month. Not that I post my ort bowl monthly, although I rarely post it monthly!

I don't know if you can see, but this bowl has a ton of sparkly threads from my hearts. I hope to have them finished here soon.

Another Hill

I started a Zoom so I have a cheering squad to help me get my casket done. I was able to finish another hill.

I am in love with the Crinkle Silk! It was fun to couch down and I can't wait to use it again. I have an idea to use it on a sampler too so I may need to see if I can find more of it.

I Finished a Page

I have a page finish on Susan Schlitcher 1845 by Queenstown Sampler Designs. I am using 40 count Russian Tea Cake and DMC floss from Sassy Jacks.

The colors are bright and vibrant! A fun stitch for sure.

Some Sparkle!

It is so hard to get a good photo of the goldwork. My chipping isn't great, but I am enjoying stitching these pieces.

An Embarrasment of WIPs

Ok, full disclosure. This was not a full display of all my WIPs, but it did show quite a few.

I'm not sure if the above will show the video, so here is the Link.

The good thing about doing this video was it made me rethink all my projects. What do I really want to accomplish? Do I really want to stitch some of the kits I have sitting in my basement?

November 1-Where Did the Year Go?

I know that as we near the end of the year, I start thinking about what stitching I have accomplished and what I want to do in the next year. I am thinking about doing a WIP parade on video. If I do, I will let you know so you can see all my starts and mistakes.

I did a bit of stitching in October. I need to get myself motivated and fully finish some ornaments for the swaps I have joined.
