Last Day of 2014

Because I was on a long road trip, I was able to get all the cross stitches done on this little Mill Hill bead kit.  I have started on the beads but this won't get done in time to be put away with the rest of the Christmas decorations.
While rummaging through my stash I found a lot of projects that were done, but not finished.  One of my New Year's resolutions will be to finish them.  Elizabeth is on that list too.  Anyone else making stitching New Year's resolutions?

Elizabeth is Out!

I stitched a little last night which I think was a mistake as I had the beginnings of a cold.  I made an error on the left hand side of the over skirt that I have to remove.  I am too busy to be sick!!!

A New Start

I needed something to carry around so I found this Christmas ornament in my stash.  I doubt it will get  done in time, but I may get it done by 2015.

Harvest Sampler Finished!

I am getting close to being ready for Christmas.  Oldest is coming home from college tonight and the Christmas program starts at church this evening.  If I can get my candy out today, it will be a great day.  If not, there is always Monday...

Crow is Beaded

Thanks for the encouraging words.  Yes, lets finish Elizabeth in 2015 Pamela!  I think Harvest Sampler will get done before the end of the year.  I am able to take it with me when I go certain places and have lots of time. Or I work on it when I don't feel like stitching on the pilot piece.

The Beading is Progressing

I was disappointed that I did not post every day in November, but I realized too late that I could not stitch on my pilot project and Elizabeth and do my normal life.  What is a normal life anyway?  Elizabeth has returned to the basement as Christmas decorations are up.  Once I get all the pilot stitching done, she will come back up and get my attention.  My dd is disappointed that I never made myself a Christmas stocking.  I have the pattern, but where is the time?

Funky Little Coffee Mat

I bought this at the Des Moines quilt show this year and decided it would make a great carry along project.  It did!  All I meed to do is the blanket stitch around the edge.  The design is by Darlene Smith of One Wing Wool out of Minnesota.  Here is a link to her website:  onewingwool.com

So much for posting daily....

I have been creative every day, even if I don't post....Here is my progress on Harvest Sampler.  I love when I get to adding the beads although it means I can no longer carry the piece around.  I have spilled beads at a coffee house once.  What a pain!

Elizabeth's Skirt

I was going to post this yesterday, but ran out of time. The pattern is fun.  Sorry that I cannot rotate the photo!

Homemade Stamps

I played with my craft foam today.  Been wanting to do this and see if I like it.  The middle picture was with yellow paint and I did not think it would show on the blog.  I restamped with brown paint.  Fun!!  Dd likes the triangles best.  I like the circles.  What about you?

Mail Art Start

I think this will be fun to cut up or fold up and stick in the mail.  Perfect for a long letter to my mom. It is a big envelope that my ds received with college junk mail.

Gelli Printing

Someone donated some maps to the local library and so we played gelli printed.  I now have a huge stack of paper to use in my art.  That is if my dd doesn't use them first.

Thread Counter

I made this for my local EGA.  I will be teaching it in January.  I have a few beads (cough, cough) in my stash to share....

Elizabeth- WIP

I haven't been working on Elizabeth as I am trying to get that pilot class done.  But every now and then she gets a few stitches.

I Can't Spell

I have been wanting to improve my lettering style for a while and finally forced myself to play in my notebook.  Now if I could just learn to spell.... I am working on a needlepoint piece every night, but it is a pilot course and I can't post pictures.  Too bad as it is lots of fun!  Will try to show Elizabeth soon.

Forgot My Camera

Well, I did play with my friends, but did not bring my camera so I thought I would post my progress on Harvest Sampler.  I am glad my scarecrow has pants....

Art Every Day 2-Junque Journal

This is my new journal that I just put together.  I used the folders that I gelli printed last week.  I wanted to get it put together to share with my library art friends on Monday.  We are going to play on Monday.  Hopefully I can get some pictures of our work to share.

Play Time!

I took some time this afternoon to  play with a gelatin plate that I had made ages ago.  I had been wanting to do this since I saw some prints Julie ( Julie Fei Fan Balzer ) made on her blog and I had to try it.  I have been doing some art journaling and I wanted to make some prints on deli paper to use. My favorite tools were the stencils I made myself and some random junk from around my house.  The girl was a stencil I made using an image from a magazine.  Pretty cool, huh?  Now I need to bind the folders together for a new journal.  But first I had better go iron the stack of clothes that is ready to topple over.

Harvest Sampler-Beginning

I needed another carry along project and I have such a collection of Mill Hill Kits, I thought I would start this fall one.  It is called Harvest Sampler and is very old.  I needed something for fall too.  My back is feeling better.  I try to get up more often and do my back exercises.  Thanks for your concern.

Harvest Night Finished

I was able to finish this as I had some waiting time one day.  Bad news is that I hurt my back and had to do no stitching for a couple of days.  I am feeling better, thank God, but I limit my stitching to 15 minute intervals.  Even sitting and typing this causes pain.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

A Few Beads

I have gotten quite a bit done on this piece.  I may get it done before Halloween, but don't hold me to it.
Did anyone buy anything at Gay Ann's sale?  Just asking....

WIP-Slow Going Elizabeth

Not much progress, but I keep plugging along.  Maybe I will be able to do some of the center of her skirt later this week.
BTW: Gay Ann Rogers is having her yearly E-Week sale starting  Wednesday morning.  Her designs are wonderful and the instructions are the best I have ever had.  Gay Ann Rogers Home  Will I buy anything this year?  Not sure.....

Fall Stitching

I started this on September 10 as we had a long car drive.  I am on the beading which means I need to find another project to start for my bus trip to Des Moines and the quilt show next week. Another Mill Hill kit or a Santa?  Decisions, decisions....

WIP with Elizabeth

Slowly but surely....Too bad she won't be done in time for Gay Ann Roger's E-Week sale.  Then I could justify buying more stash!

Another finish

I have had this done for a while. It was a one day class that my local EGA took with Judy Jeroy.  I need to block it and decide what to do with it.  Journal cover???

So Close....

I hope to have this done next week.  Depends on how the garden does and how much canning I do.

What I am Doing Today (Photo heavy)

I got some work done on Elizabeth, although you can't tell as it is a cloudy day here.
The rest of these are garden pictures.  I am canning, drying and putting stuff up for winter.  I am posting these photos in the hopes that I can play with them at a later date on a kaleidoscope program.  Until then, this is my art for the day!

I Had a Bit of A Scare...

I thought I did not have enough of one of the threads.  I was in a panic.  I ordered a new skein, but the dye lots have changed dramatically.  Thank goodness I had enough!  I am on my last section.  Wish I could do it on black congress cloth, but I don't have time to do this piece again.  Someone did it on black and it looked stunning!

WIP Elizabeth

I have been so busy!  Gardening, getting the oldest to college and life have gotten in the way of blogging.  But I have stitched almost every day.  I even have two finishes to share, if I can just get a moment to take a picture!  Here is Elizabeth, with her wings.

Can I Start A New Project?

I really, really want to start working on my workshop project. (Need to get permission to post pictures.) I really, really want to do this again in a different colorway.  But I will try to get this done.  I have less than a quarter of it to do.  A little every day....

Work in Progress-Elizabeth

I haven't posted in a while.  I was busy helping with my local guild's workshop and taking care of my garden.  That and  getting a college student ready to depart, stitching time is limited.  I try to take time every day, but it doesn't always happen.

Elizabeth is Getting Wings

I took some serious stitching time and made some progress.  But this next section has a lot of basketweave, just like the background....

Mistakes Fixed

I think I finally remember how to do this piece.  It is very addicting.  I have got to finish it and not let it go back to the basement.
