July is Here!

First, let me answer Nicole's question about eyelets: the idea behind eyelets is to make a small hole in the center of the eyelet. Some stitchers say there doesn't have to be a hole, but there should be no threads covering the center where your thread goes down into the center. If you want to keep the back neat and tidy and the front so you can see a hole in the center of the eyelet, it often helps to plan a path around each letter doing half, or less, of each eyelet. I will try to remember to take photos when I  work on my next letter to show how it works.

Anyway, after that long-winded not very good explanation- here is my calendar for June:

I missed a few days stitching, but that is life. But I also completed two projects!

First up, Ode to Palette color wheel class:

I made it into a cover for my bullet journal. Perfect stitching? No. But it is done and I learned tons about color. I highly recommend Natalie Dupis class.
I also finished my great-niece's birth sampler, but you have seen that already.

I'll try to take a photo of Agnus Dei to show you my progress.

Rotation Failure

I had a brilliant idea to rotate through my stitching projects. Two days on Royal Garden, Springhill and 17th Century Whitework Sampler with Sunday for my Gay Ann Rogers piece. I stuck to it for maybe one week. Then life and the realization that I need to work on my Color Wheel course took over.

What Color Wheel course, you may ask? Well, the one Fiber Talk got me into...

Sew by Hand

This is not an easy class and I am dreadfully behind. But boy am I learning stuff! Like how colors react when they are next to each other. How colors change when on different backgrounds.

Here is the image I am using for my color study:

It is called "He who takes another road and enjoys the journey".

Here are my thread choices, although I will probably pull tints and tones of them as I stitch:

Here is my calendar. I missed two days stitching in May. Not too bad....

C is for Calendar

Calendar? What does that have to do with stitching? Well, Needlework Press puts one out each year for stitchers  and this year a lot of people are using it. So I joined the bandwagon and am using mine to keep track of what I stitch every day.

I have huge collection of stickers that I use to decorate my days. It is fun and helps me keep track.

The Colors Call Me

I must admit that I do love stitching on this piece. The colors speak to me, as they are so bright and cheerful.

Oh! I wanted to show you my calendar for the month of February:

It is interesting to me that I can consistently work on about three pieces. Every now and then I throw in a fourth one, but it is normally two or three. How about you? How many pieces do stitch on daily?
