Don't Judge My Finishing Techniques

First, I want to say, I am not a finisher. I really don't like to do it. I love the process of stitching, but finishing a project into something has never interested me. I like the feel of fibers in my fingers. I like watching patterns develop. I like how it calms me when I stitch and allows me to relax. Finishing makes me tense and want to throw everything against the wall.

So why did I finish these myself? One reason is that it is almost Christmas. If I want these to decorate my house this year, I needed to finish them myself. The other is cost. My finisher is worth every penny she charges, but I just don't want to pay to have something finished that I can do an ok job on.

So without further ado:
Candy Swirl Santa
 Christmas Light Santa
And  two photos of the hat rack where they all hang.

I have a missing stitched Santa in my house-Christmas Tree Santa- and one coming in the mail soon- Pine cone Santa. There are several Santas that I haven't even started yet in my basement! I need to find another way to display them-SOON!

Stitch from Stash October

Month:October
Spent:$0
Earned:$8(Christmas Light Santa)+$2(Purple Pumpkin Eater)
Carryover:$73
Balance:$25+$73+$10=$108

Here are my finishes for the month:

Christmas Light Santa was finished earlier this month. I just finished Purple Pumpkin Eater last night.  I forgot he was almost done and just needed his beads.  He is perfect for Halloween.  I need to get a move on my Heirloom Sampler as I will need the $$$$ to pay for the stash that is coming in November.  Will post my naughtiness when I get it(and take it off my November totals).  I am waiting til then because I don't pay for it until November....

Santa's got Lights!

I found the little lights at Hobby Lobby and think they are perfect.  Will he be finished before Christmas?  If I can find a clear spot in my craft room. Wish I had more electronic ability.  Wouldn't it be fun if the lights lit up?

Santa Needs Some Help

Someone mentioned that the little lights included in the kit were too big.  I agree so a trip to Hobby Lobby is in my future.  At least my dd wants them to make into earrings.

So Close to Being Done....

I just need to add beads to the red hat and Christmas lights on the band and he will be done!  Love these little projects.

Third Layer on Hat

I love working on this.  All the layers on the hat are fun to stitch.  I need to get Heirloom Stitching Sampler back out, but this is so much more relaxing.

Santa Progress

Not much done on my Santa, but at least his beard is in! I really want to have him done for Christmas!

A Bit on my Santa

I was able to finish the padding on Santa's beard last night.  Now I need to carefully layer the Fyre Werks.  It looks pink in the photo, but I think that is just the reflection of the light.

A Finish and a Start

Jingle Bell Santa-Janet Zickler Casey

I finally finished a Santa and thought I would show it to you.  I still have two more ornaments to finish in the basement-a heart and a Santa-but I could not wait to start a new project.  The bottom Santa is called Christmas Light Santa.  These are a fun, fast stitch.  I may have him done before Christmas!
