One Quarter Done-Kind of

Not much time to write, but here are the outlines for the pots for Ghost Dancer.  Lots of counting!!

Dancing Moving Along

I have actually made some progress on this piece.  I did not realize that it is due to Ro Pace in March. Yikes!  I am very worried about running out of threads so I may just order what I think I will need.  My other choice is to substitute DMC floss for some of the threads.  That way if I run out, it is easy to get the thread I need.

This piece has been difficult for me to count.  When I put the center Jessicas in I realized the couching was incorrect on three of the legs.  So they had to be redone.  One is still wrong, but I will leave it.  If I get an extension, I may go back and redo that part.

Counting issues made me decide to put the pots in and then the border.  (Ro has the border put in first.) Once I get all the outlines for the pots in, I will put the border in.  I am thinking of using beads for the center instead of French Knots so I will put them in later too.

Painted Desert Quilt Finished

Ta da!  I got this back from the quilters and stayed up late one night to get the binding done.  Now I have to send it on to my mom.  Hope she and Dad get to enjoy it for many, many years.

Another Leg

I had hoped to have finished these legs by now, but I got distracted by a different project.  (Hopefully I will post a picture of it next week-finished!)  I like laying the threads but am having a terrible time counting the outline.  I know the next step is little red bullions which I am looking forward to stitching.  Or is it a Hilton stitch next?

New Words for Sampler

I finally finished stitching the row with the verse.  I enjoyed making the queen stitches and think they make beautiful flowers.

More Work on Elizabeth

I have made a little progress on Elizabeth.  It is fun watching her develop although I wish I had a longer attention span...

Heirloom Sampler Restart

2013

1-7-14
I started this sampler in 2012 with my local EGA.  It has been sitting in my basement waiting patiently for me to restart it.  I thought I was going to be traveling with my dh for a week and thought this would be great for stitching in the hotel.  So up it came.  I am not traveling with my dh, but decided to work on this piece like I do Elizabeth; a few stitches every day as a break from my big project. Hopefully it will get done this year.  I did change the saying to parts of Proverbs 31.  .

Miles and Miles of Background

When I first started this piece with Gay Ann in the Shining Needle Society classroom, Gay Ann mentioned the background and how there was a lot to do.  I now understand what she was talking about.  I try to stitch a little background and a little on the cuffs.  I may have to start on the dress just to add some interest.

Another Quarter Done

The Christmas decorations are down in my house even if they are still up on my blog!  (Will fix that next week.)  I brought Ghost Dancer out and finished another quarter.  This section has been difficult for me to count.  Hopefully I will be able to get more done this week.
My mom's quilt should be back soon from the quilter.  I need to get the binding cut so I can get that project done.  She has been asking about it...

A Finish and a Squirrel

Merrily,Merrily

Squirrelly
Because of Christmas decorations, I have not been able to stitch on anything big.  I think that is why Merrily, Merrily got finished.  I started this little Mill Hill bead kit of a squirrel when I needed something a little mindless to stitch.
I have been peeking at blogs, but I am not always able to leave a comment.  Hopefully that bug will get fixed and I will post notes again soon.  I am being enticed by a sampler which I really don't need.
Decided against doing the Crazy January Challenge 2014.  I got a bit done on my list, but not nearly as many as I wanted.  I think I will be changing my rotations this year.  The plan is to work on Elizabeth I, Ghost Dancer, a Mill Hill kit and maybe something else.  I have so many large projects that need to be finished, but it drives me crazy if too many are upstairs.  I am hoping that by working a little on projects that have a due date (Ghost Dancer), and giving myself to have a floating project (the something else on my list), I will get more done. We shall see.
